The 2AM curse strikes again XD For this episode my take away is this: League of Legends by Riot Games is a five on five brawl. The game is defined by kills, team fights, and a horribly cruel matching algorithm. It is therefore some kind of corporate greed defying miracle that the entire season of Arcane is not similar to the last few minutes of episode 8 (sans the very end). Instead it is a series about people. I am sure that all of the LOL fans were waiting with baited breath to see Vi put on her gauntlets, and Jayce pick up his hammer but even that scene of brilliantly choreographed combat animation was to tell a story to the audience. They very intentionally baited us into feeling the hype over virtual violence that you get from a game like league and then smashed us in the face with a case for why that kind of violence is only laudable in a video game.
