Keep in mind that only Kira knows how Kira kills people. The other Yotsuba members probably think Kira made him fall over the edge. And Kira would be informed that everyone saw him fall off then the newspaper publishes his obituary. And since nobody in the Yotsuba group knows who Kira is they cannot ask him if he was responsible for "Taro Matsui's" death.
