Thank you for this comment. This is how I view the story in my head but I've never had luck putting my thoughts into words as clear as this.

When Eren touched Zeke first time and we see his memories SWS asked who is this in glasses 😆 it was Armin nerd and Mikasa goth from "AoT school castes" - not sure if it's parallel universe but it's manga where all go to high school in modern time

Side note: It is confirmed that Eren knew that the power of the titans would disappear- he told his friends about it several days beforehand (it was in the memories they got back after his death)

Think of the time travel in attack on titan like this - Eren had a list of objectives he wanted completed, Ymir also had things that she wanted - in order to change anything Eren needed to compromise with Ymir. We can assume that either the time loop is a closed infinite loop where Eren’s fragile mental state was pushed over the edge after inheriting the attack titan and the memories of the previous wielders (Grisha in particular was less than stable at the end of his life) and due to a lack of trust in those around him he chose to trust his future self and the self fulfilling prophecy that seemed inescapable once he noticed that all he needed to do was act out life like a script (and the devil in his ear told him that he’d get everything he wanted if he did).
The other way to think of it was a popular theory based on the OVA episodes and a few other scenes from the final season, it involved something. That is implied but never confirmed- that Eren had memories from ‘alternate timelines’ which we see flashes of when he wakes up in episode 1, when he enters the paths for the first time, and in the Mikasa OVA, and possibly in the final episode with the cabin. This idea would mean that Eren exists in the paths in the same way Ymir does - and circling back on the idea that both of them had to reach a compromise it is possible that one or both of them had the ability to ‘reset’ timelines by altering memories and changing past events. In this simulation idea (present) Eren (and by extension all attack titan wielders) would be the tools to change the path of history. Eren would only ever have clear memories of the previous “loop” and perhaps vague impressions of what could have been based on alternate choices - which would explain his unwillingness to deviate from the future memories and his representation in the paths beside Ymir, but I feel it doesn’t fully fit… Ultimately regardless of how it works, Isayama specified that Eren’s fate was self inflicted and did not take away his agency - regardless of what he saw, regardless of how correct it was, he still chose to do what he did and chose to become a puppet of his own ideals. Because ultimately the rumbling was the means by which both Eren and Ymir got what they wanted - Ymir, protection of her descendants and a moral example of what she should have done despite loving King Fritz. And Eren - the assurance that those closest to him would live long lives, and revenge against the world that took freedom from his people (and from his future memories, the world that would destroy his people and his friends without his interference).
The saddest part of the story is the setup that we never hear about - how circumstances got so dire that dialogue became utterly impossible - because despite geniuses like Hange and Armin working at it for years, no progress was made. It’s like Historia said at the end - to say that Eren and Ymir dictated everything is incorrect, they certainly manipulated the ending into one that was favorable for them - most of the world aren’t Eldians and are beyond their influence - the world is the outcome of Everyone’s choices.

even if he doesn't hold back, one guy controlling like 50 titans is not going to be as tactically effective as 50 titan shifters fighting together

not spoilers anymore but the wiki page with the lyrics has links to popualr articles like "the ofunding titan" with rumbling and rumbling form eren panels which is why I was kinda worried about spoilers during earlier lyrics reactions

also just looking at their faces and remembering all those collossal titans were probably random people who were suddenly turend into walls at some point give a whole other layer to the rumbling

And the Attack Titan was later said to always “buck against authority, fighting for freedom” and is designed with pointed ears and nose with its skull like visage— because the Attack Titan was always supposed to visually resemble THE DEVIL, Lucifer, the rebel. As one opening put it, “like a fallen angel”!

I always thought he inspired by necklace in ceremony in 3rd season 😆 I guess I can interpret this way too - in ceremony he got memories what he is going to do and became a slave completely

Eren's founding titan design is one of the best designs I ever seen thematically imo.
- There are 2 strings above his head, symbolizing how much he is a puppet to the story of AOT and his future memories.
- Then there is the colossal titans (the walls) still surrounding him, highlighting that he is still not free

Looking forward to when you do your recap and ranking videos, you could do an OP/ED ranking if you wanted. Here's mine:
For me Guren no Yumiya (the first one) will always be "The Attack On Titan Opening" to me, but the second one Jyuu no Tsubasa (Wings of Freedom) is by far my favorite, just something about the animation and musical performance encapsulated the spirit of the scouts so well. "Rumbling" is iconic, but not my style of music and "Last War" is beautiful but depressing. Shoukei to Shikabane no Michi (Path of Aspirations and Corpses) felt like too much of a copycat of the original OP and also I couldn't forgive them for how spoilertastic the visuals were. Red Swan was too melancholy for my tastes though I can see why some people really liked it.

I may be wrong but I think the second to last OP you watched seemed like a bunch of footage from the film cut together, while the last one seemed like the official OP visuals. (I only ever watched the films without OP, so I'm not sure)

3rd opening you watched is actually ending of First movie (at least as I understood from lyrics printed on video, because we can't hear) and lyrics not from this song I think you read it already from previous sessions (or I don't remember from where those lyrics) 😁

I just remembered when we first see Eren as a Titan when he saved Mikasa, she said "the rage of humanity itself was embodied in what I saw"

First opening for me looks like from Eren POV, evening train could be train when all scouts were sitting and wanted to decide who is going to inherite Eren's titan, look down from above could be when he was big titan when rumbling activated
