Thorfinn, as of right now at the end of S1, has ideals he'd call honor.. but he has no honor. No one has ever confronted Thorfinn's honor head on. People, mostly Askeladd, have just used his sense of honor to keep him in line. But he's not honoring Thors, he's not honoring his family and responsibilities still alive in Iceland, he's not honoring the countless people he's killed. The only honor he seems to think is that he needs to kill Askeladd in a fair duel. If he had honor he'd have walked away a long time ago like his father wanted.
