Not to say she's a completely different character, but the anime adaptation botches Mikasa's character noticeably. She has a lot more moments, both comedic and serious, as well as internal reflections on whats happening and her own actions in the manga. The iconic (and infamous) "Ereh" she's always yelling is also a "brilliant" anime addition often replacing aforementioned scenes. She says "Ereh" something like 140 times through s1-3, but only ~80 in the manga. It's especially noticable in anime original episodes like 1x24 where she screams it every two f'ing minutes. Even Armin says it way more than Mikasa in the manga :) Though, thats just my little ramble.
