Yeah, I need the anga as well, can't wait to see what really was adapted from the page (like the Heiter stuff). I am curious, did you know what Aureole means before? I had never heard of it before looking into it. =D

2024-01-18 17:28:48 +0000 UTCMust say, a great video. As a native German speaker, I bought the manga with the English translation (the German translation was published later). This made the German words/names stand out more and provided an extra layer of interpretation. It also made me look into it more and also the question. Why German at all? German is often used in anime. But why did the mangaka decide to use it in his story? Because more unusual words were used. To me, that means that more thought was put into it. That's why I think your explanation of "What kind of story is Frieren" is very fitting. It's close to what I thought at the time, and also now with the anime.
