Halloween 2025 WIP

What the hell?! What do you mean there's not another month between September and October? 

I've been so distracted with my vampire stuff that I completely forgot about the other thing I wanted to prepare for next month. And that is a WornDown Children Halloween piece.

Those are always fun to do. 

I actually hadn't given it that much of a thought because I actually lost the notion of the months (Scary). But I took some time to do that today.

Non of these are final and as always I'm open to suggestions.

One of the things I'm considering is looking for another format than one big group picture because this year there is actually gonna be yet another character talked to it. Yes, Tina.

The one thing I have been thinking of since last year is Tina and Davo going in a couple costume. And with Tina being Tina, there's no reason for Davo to end his tradition of going on a music related costume. In fact, there are even more reasons to not do it now. 

The one thing I actually didn't really think about is what the costumes would actually be. 

So I tried Sid and Nancy and John and Yoko. You know, classic stuff. Maybe too classic in fact. I'm still not fully sold on either. 

With John and Yoko I’m amused by the idea of Tina lending her glasses to Davo for his costume and because her glasses graduation is really high he can't see anything with them and of course she can't see anything without them so they have to stay on a couch all night accidentally doing the bit of the John and Yoko Bed-In protest.

The problem I have is that I don't think I'm making the costumes work so far. Not like with Sid and Nancy with which the reference is a bit clearer and I didn't even have to give Tina a wig for it. The problem I have with that one is that I feel the reference is maybe too easy. 

I'm also trying to come up with a more obscure, or at least less obvious reference for these two. But let's see if I manage to do it. None of these are final anyway.

Except maybe Zara as Carrie. I think I like that one. Maybe I have to wait to watch it in color but it feels right. Davo is usually the hardest for these pics and Zara is usually the easiest lmao. But who knows. Maybe I can come up with a better idea.

So far here I'm just throwing things at the wall. See what sticks. For example.

Maybe if I gave it another shot I could make it work better but it's probable that RJ is a bit too friend shaped to pull a Nosferatu (2024) even though the height seems right for it. On the other hand, I'm liking him as Jason. 

And maybe it's a bit of a stretch but it sort of has the extra benefit of by accident making something of a couple costume with Zara, kinda, as in both going as characters from classic horror movies. Or something…

With Lil I'm still also not completely sold but I kinda wanted to draw her as Wendy Torrance from the Shinning. The other day I was thinking that a human Lil could look a bit like Shelley Duval. Not like completely but a bit. Like from an angle or something I don't know… they do have the same eyelashes.

The two problems I have with this one is that A) It's subtle but the hair is in fact a big part of the costume and I usually don't draw these characters with hair. (I did a sketch to try it out tho). And B) I just did RJ as Jack last year and I don't want to repeat so soon.

Speaking of repeating except not really because no, Tak wasn't a devil last year, she was a demonic nun. Not the same. So Diana could be a devil this year. Or something… Idk I just really liked her devil costume. I also liked her zombie costume but the devil one more.

Besides, her zombie costume is a bit too close to Tony's Shaw of the death costume. And that one is very of his style, I think it works, though I'm also liking him as Eraserhead. Though I don't know if that one will work in colour. 

Btw, you know who's also green? Tak! Maybe. I'm not sure, with that one I was just free styling, here she's going as a sort of retro futurist space alien bear woman or something, I don't really know what's going on really but she's making it work I think. Though as with all of these I'm still not 100% sold yet so who knows.
