Let's not talk about it

Or

“Well, I've told you about RJ’s ex, now let's talk about Davo’s”

Or

Oh boy! Is it time for lore? I think it is!

I, on a couple of occasions before like Twitter AMAs and such, had mentioned Davo being in another band before The Worn Down Children.

In highschool Davo played drums for like 6 months for this local band whose drummer had left to go to rehab after his 4th overdose.

Davo was 16 or 17 when he did the audition while these guys were in their late 20s but he still got the gig. They were pretty wild with the parties and the drugs and technically speaking not great role models for him but who really cares about that. They still had fun for the most part.

The problem with Davo joining so late in the band's game was that he kind of missed on the true golden days and got there just in time for when tensions were forming between the band.

I remember it well, I was there apparently, It was during the rehearsal before a show at a bar. Billy, the main guitarist black dog, and Mike, the singer and second guitarist cheetah had been discussing over notes Mike would play during Billy's solo on a song for months. And after Mike went on and played them anyway again, both of them were drunk (and maybe took a little bit of another thing) for them to finally lose it.

Bam! Billy swung his guitar towards Mike hard enough to draw blood when it connected with his head. But that wasn't all. Before the concussion started having effects, Mike kicked Billy in the stomach so hard that he ended up on his knees for a moment.

Sadly that was just a moment and before Mike noticed Billy was already running towards him. They exchanged punches for a bit before Mike finally lost balance and fell over the drum kit that happened to have a bunch of pointy and edgy parts so the owners of the bar had to call an ambulance and the police and sadly for Billy everything got recorded.

But don't worry Mike survived and eventually even got to walk again. After that experience during rehabilitation he got really into religion and now plays music at churches and all of that.

Logan the bassist bird did go back to work with his father. He and his girlfriend Jen, the monkey girl pictured here, broke up some years later, she later married an old friend of hers that owns a bowling place.

Billy got out on Parole some years after, got back with his ex, they got married and now he is a construction worker

And of course Davo laid low for a while until he heard his old friend Zara was done with teather kids or something and was starting her own band and the rest is history

Now, will we someday see what Zara's Nam Flashback was? IDK maybe…

Changing topics. Hey remember when I said my next comic would be like 10 pages old? Isn't it funny how I lied?

Truth is these two pages were going to be a bit on that one but I thought it'd work better if it was Tina making the question instead of another member of the gang. Besides this way I could finally have the long awaited Tina meets the band moment. They're hanging in the green room before a show. And RJ is out doing the roadie stuff.

I got to squeeze this comic between my free time and weekend after accepting too many jobs. You know, my job, my commission work and a third secret thing I'm working on with a friend.

Now also look at me completely failing at trying a more minimalist style, with me even going full lighting mode for three panels and everything.

It's very probable we will. Or at least she'll give out some clues.

At long last we get to some heavier stuff about the band! No surprise it's about Davo since he's clearly the most troubled member, and the fully rendered lighting in the flashback panels really helps make it feel more dramatic and meaningful like you're right there with Davo feeling what he feels.^^ And it's clear that Zara's theater incident was likely something very embarrassing - and if Lil's expression is any indication, maybe also amusing - so fingers crossed that we get to see that flashback someday too. ;)

Well That's true

Well, Van Halen fought David Roth, Ozzy fought with fellow band members, Joey Ramone fought with everybody... If a band isn't fighting each other is not a band lol. Pretty sure the WDC has had their beef moments sometime xd
