Or
“Now I have a Machine Gun! Ho! Ho! Ho!”
Usually the one who kicks the door is Davo but now he knows how it feels to be inside.
See, Tony just did a sort of dumb financial decision, yet a fun one, and bought a nice present for himself.
The other day I was at the store and saw a huge Nerf gun. Bigger than this one actually. And for a moment I had a thought. I am an adult with my own money and I could buy that if I wanted.
In the end I didn't but I couldn't stop thinking about how funny it would have been if I actually bought it. Especially considering I just went to the store to get ketchup, onions and insecticide. And then I thought to myself. You know who would actually do that?
Tony.
Especially as a bit but I guess he really wanted one.
So Tony and Davo are staying in the department for Christmas. I don't think they originally had a lot planned. Maybe order a pizza and get high. But now! They have to try this beauty out. Davo look alarmed in the picture but he's gonna have a lot of fun with the Nerf machine gun aswell.
As a disclaimer, this piece on the timeline is set either before Davo met Tina or they're dating but not for long enough for him to meet her family.
So this ironically could be the lore heaviest piece on this set cause now I have not only to talk about their families but explain why they're not here.
Basically, Davo and his stepdad don't really get along well, and especially since Davo's mother passed away their relationship got more tense.
Usually when Helena, Davo's sister, is there they can behave. She didn't really like him a lot either but she has learnt to forgive and all that. But this year she's out of town and both Davo and his stepdad know that if they meet they could very well end up throwing punches… again.
So they're limiting the whole thing to a “Happy Christmas” text. Actually, Davo was in the middle of that when Tony came in blasting.
Tony's situation on the other hand it's simpler.
See, Tony's parents got into a really messy divorce when he was 10. They fought for his custody and the whole thing. Now his dad lives out of town with his new family and Tony's mom is spending Christmas with her newest boyfriend’s family.
She did invite him to join them but that sounded like an awkward night for him, and truth to be told, they both knew that wouldn't happen when she Invited him.
This was actually the central piece for this series. I came up with the whole idea while making this. That's why the rest of the pictures are so family focused, to contrast a bit with this one. With the context a bit sad, but still wholesome I think.
That's also why Zara and RJ’s pieces were separated, so this one contrasts more. In a sense. And it's a bit of a shame cause I had a composition for those two that I love so much. And I'm still doing it anyway but I guess as its own thing.
Finally. As Patreon exclusives, on the attached files you'll find a couple of sketches for Tony and Davo's families.
