6 Morning Lil

And thus we've gone all the way around to the beginning.

In the past when drawing a younger Lil I've tended to make her eyelashes curl upwards instead of downwards to make her feel distinct. And since then I've had this picture on my mind of Lil in the morning brushing her eyelashes down and making them look like they usually do. And that was pretty much the Genesis of this whole project.

A thing I remember very vividly from the process of designing Lil was when I decided to make her eyelashes like that. Back then I still used to draw cats with whiskers all the time unlike now when I just do it sometimes. And she was going to have whiskers as well but it didn't feel right and I ended up moving the lines to her eyes. And that ended up changing the way I drew eyes a bit.

Now I've been talking a lot about it since I began posting these. You may have noticed there's two different extra versions of this. See I actually started with Lil, but when I did it I wasn't completely sure how I wanted this piece to end up looking. But as I kept going I sort of developed a style for them that ended up leaving the original piece as a bit of an outlier.

The original is a little bit simpler with less details and with a more extreme perspective. I was trying a little bit of a fisheye lens effect for it.

But in order to make it fit better with the others I decided to remake it. The new one has a more detailed background and foreground and a more detailed lighting.

This one is sort of a twin piece to RJ's as I had mentioned because their backgrounds are the only ones to not be repeated (Or are they?) But also of course because of the posing of the characters.

As RJ is so big he had to lean over the sink to fit in his mirror. I like the idea of Lil being so small that she has to step over a small stool to do the same unfortunately I didn't find the way to make the step stool enter the frame but if I think of something I may do an edit.

The bathroom we see here is the one from Lil's parents house where Lil legally lives in. But she spends so much time at Zara's and Diana's place that she is now their halftime roommate. She has a small room there now and has helped with the rent often.

I like the funny dynamic of Lil being a free spirit while still living with her parents. Guess it makes sense.

Another thing to mention is one of her outfits that consists mainly of a Jersey with the logo of the college that her "very very good friend" Diego gave her one time he was back in town for the holidays.

I did a quick research to be sure that the letters I chose didn't match with an existing university somewhere. I'm not really sure what the name of this in universe school is or where it is but I was very close to putting the UAM-X logo which is the university I went to. I may very well do that alt version for my own amusement in the future. Lol

And that'd be all from this little project I did besides the college version I'll post later.
