4 Diana

4 but 5, you may know the jist by now. It is now for Diana to get ready for the day.

Just as with the last one with Zara I wasn't really sure what to do for this one. One of the silliest ideas I came up with, and was really close to doodling was Diana Painting her spots as if it were make-up. Of course I didn't end up going with that, it would generate too many questions but, it was still a funny idea, maybe for a more cartoon and surreal version of this series.

Flossing her teeth is an idea that makes a lot of sense considering she's a hyena, after their skulls are 50% teeth, yet I wasn't sure of that because I wanted that for another character.

It took me a while to nail Diana's expression for this. I tend to simplify teeth a lot in my style, and try to make them look right. There's an Idea I had very early when coming up with Diana of her being a little ashamed of her smile due to her big teeth. I never revisited that dynamic but I might in the future.

I'm adding an extra alt to show one of my other attempts to figure out Diana's expression because I really liked that one. For a moment that one was going to be the final one but I felt the vibes were off.

Considering the dynamic I mentioned I like how awkward it feels as it gives me a sense of Diana being alone and not really caring at the moment or something with all her teeth showing. But at a moment it kind of gave me the vibes of those weird creepy phone games where you're the dentist fixing Elsa's teeth. So I changed it to something a little more discreet, It ended up better anyway.

This is obviously a twin piece to the last one, the background is the same as the Zara piece. Roommates after all, but there's a couple of changes I did in the name of continuity. Like Zara's deodorant that now stands in front of the mirror, or the towel on the top of the pile is the one Diana is using now.

When designing the background for these two pieces I wanted to use a palette that would fit with both Diana, Zara (and sometimes LIl), that's one of the reasons for this bathroom to end up that detailed.
