3 Morning Zara

Or you know, actually 4. Yes, Zara is definitely the type of person who sings in front of the mirror.

See, when I started working on these I had the idea for the first three, but starting with this one I didn't really know what to do, and I tried a number of things until I arrived at this idea, which is kind of cheating in a sense. We've seen her sing before but I can totally see her getting distracted while putting on her deodorant and singing a whole show in the bathroom before her roommate knocks at the door telling her to hurry.

Bathrooms are scientifically proven to have good acoustics due the closed spaces, reflective surfaces, humidity and all of that. I kind of read part of a study about it once.

This is the background from this series, I spent more time in. Zara, Diana and sometimes Lil's apartment is in a very old building and I wanted to show that so I went a little bit in a retro direction and is probably the one that features the most details.

Zara, Diana and sometimes Lil being roommates is one dynamic in the group I haven't really touched a lot. With Davo and Tony I've done it a couple of times but It's easier because they have their own space, but when I draw the girls' place, the whole gang tends to be there as well and it becomes a group piece.

It makes sense in universe because Diana and Zara have the biggest apartment so of course they spend a lot of time there. Besides, the owner lets them practice there. I used to have a silly in universe explanation for their landlord to be so permissive, it involved him doing it in spite of his ex wife.

But making this made me notice I should visit that roommate dynamic one of these days.

There’s a couple more stuff I’d like to mention about this one but I want to keep those for an Alt Version I’ll be posting, It’s a very simple change of course, nothing too complex.
