Let's start off this commentary with #75, which was finished around Nov. 2019.
At that point in time, I had just finished several commissions with moos in them, and really wanted to do something for myself. Personal projects of mine are always an opportunity for me to really push the envelope with new ideas, and this one was certainly full of them. I've tied guys up before in my projects, but not quite as extensively as I've done here. And the sawblade, as disturbing as it is for some people, really added an excellent element of suspense in these pictures. Especially after it starts spinning.
And this is still one of my favorite projects to date, if not the favorite. The execution was just super on point, and the lighting is phenomenal. It is also still one of my most popular posts on social media, and I've seen another generic bara artist use my pics as references for their drawn art (though they didn't bother crediting me or even mentioning me🙄 That ain't nice).
Naturally with something this popular, you start to think about coming up with an idea for a sequel. And I tried, but many things went wrong with that. I felt like it wasn't as edgy or innovative as its predecessor. And then what truly killed the project for me was my failure to properly implement "sexy lighting", something that I'd like to think is my signature aesthetic. I didn't like how the project was progressing, and since it also wasn't even close to matching its predecessor in quality, I decided to scrap it.
It wasn't a fruitless endeavor at least. I definitely learned from this experience. My biggest takeaway from this one is probably in regards to deforming certain sections of a model, which is what I did to the Kul'tiran's pants here. I don't hate the scrapped sequel or anything; I just think it wasn't good enough.
I still think that you will be seeing these two again at some point. The setting/lighting is not reusable, imo. It was a one-shot wonder for #75, and it just isn't adapting well to being seen from other perspectives and such. Everything else about this project can definitely be reused, like the poses. They might not be the most innovative, but they're certainly erotic enough.
One bit of trivia about this scrapped project (and #75), is that they were intended to be spiritual remakes of my very first numbered project. There has also been another more recent attempt at trying to remake that project. That's a pretty big story for another time.
Lastly, what's the story here? I'd like to note that there wouldn't have been a gory ending here (unless if that floats your boat, then by all means you can imagine that it does). The scrapped sequel does spoil things a bit, but you can tell that the Kul'tiran's expressions in #75 were rather ambiguous. Was he making sure that the Orc would be chopped up? Or did he raise his sword for some other reason? And what would've been the role of that Evil Panda? All things to think about.
