I think this was a very good commission, and it still holds up very well today. There was a longer than usual gap in time between this commission and the one preceding it. In that time, I finally came to realize that I should be focusing on quality over quantity. The results speak for themselves here.
This commission features the "best" mini-comic that I've made to date. Not that it's actually any good or anything, but it's certainly a step above the others I've made. It's a little cringe and kitschy overall, but I'm a silly guy so whatever really. I like having fun.
The actual meat of the commission aged nicely too. Overall I think the colors and saturation might've been just a tad too intense, but that's just imo. Framing is a bit off here and there. At this point in time it was clear that I was still shaky with my framing skills.
People have asked me before if I would do other "welcome, _________" projects for the other allied races, and my answer is probably not. It seems rather contrived and unoriginal to have a set of projects all with the same underlying theme. I feel the same way about not doing a "horde hospitality" project. Though I wouldn't object to revisiting this idea if it were another commission.
