Angelwing: Ultima gets new NPC Bakes!
Added 2021-03-07 18:42:13 +0000 UTCFor as long as I have been modding FF8, the pre-baked NPCs in the field backgrounds have been a HUGE eyesore. I know a LOT of you feel the same way, and with the release of FF8: Remastered, I know I wasn't the only one who thought that these pre-baked NPCs ripped me right out of my gameplay experience and just brought the quality of the whole remaster down.
As of 3 weeks ago,I thought the best I could do was give you all upscaled NPC pre-bakes... but with the help of fellow modders Kaspar and patfeerick, we discovered the process of how to properly extract the NPCs so that they could be posed and re-integrated (re-baked) back into the scenes! I have replaced all Balamb pre-baked NPCs and patfeerick has replaced all Deling NPCs (and their animations!), and we worked together to get the best possible result. This understandably added a few weeks to the development process, but what an improvement! I haven't been this hyped in a while! Here's a preview!

If I had tried to release it any sooner, we wouldn't have the new baked npcs, various new background creations (details tomorrow), and huge font improvements to the backgrounds. ❤️ Sorry it's taken so long, but the mod is now more amazing than I ever thought possible.
