Flashback

Just Zara here having a quick Nam flashback.

And that's the story behind Lil's ear. I was very recently reminded about this comic I did a couple of months ago when I was trying to do some little thing with the band in their teenage years. From those came out this one with Davo, Tony and some nuns, which also has a little bit of a fun story behind it.

This is the canonical story of how Lil's ear got notched, and this is something I've known since the moment I decided she'd have a notched ear. How did it happen? I thought to myself. A botched piercing when she was in highschool! I replied to myself. Done with a safety pin and a potato like in that movie I watched once yet I can't remember wich one. I added.

And it was done by Zara since they've been BFFs since then at least. Even today she sometimes looks at Lil's ear and starts cringing hard. It was Lil's Idea but still... There wasn't a lot of blood, more of an infection kind of deal. But still.

I was going to post this last year but I didn't had it in me at first. I couldn't avoid cringing with Zara. Then I kind of forgot about it. And then there's the fact that this was almost lost media. Wasn't able to find the original file in my back up files. But I managed to find a copy on a drive of mine.

Finally Now I just wanna expand a bit on the other comic from this "series" which ended up being the most extended one, because I don't think I ever told the story behind it. It's based on a real life story that my mother told me about one of my uncles who, on his rebel phase, would do stuff like these. Trying to scare the nuns of the convent close to my house. The nuns would later of course laugh it off, they were apparently very chill.

That's why there's two versions of that comic. One so it can be read in english anywhere. And another one in Spanish that includes the actual words yelled by my uncle according to my mother which includes the phrase "Que viva el diablo" which is a sentence that just makes me laugh every time.

And those are the things I did as a part of that project. But I think I should revisit that concept of the band highschool years one of these days especially to make something with RJ
