(Also, I am sorry for the following ramble of my own, but one long comment is better than four separate comments from the same person.) I do somewhat understand how a toxic relationship with your own father. Both of my parents had independent falling outs with their fathers (at different times for different reasons), and everyone was a lot less happy because of it. However, no more than 2 years later, my Dad and his Dad did talk things out and make up, with the senior of the two being the one to initiate (which is important because most of the blame was on his side of the relationship, although not all of it). Both of them have been happier since, especially the senior. You designed the cards yourself? Now I really do hope that I never consider getting rid of it. Also, I can't deny being a little bit envious of those within this community that know you personally, but I won't get into that because this is about you. I may not understand your experiences sufficiently to comfort you properly, but I do understand something similar due to having multiple disabilities/disorders, with a specific two of them ruining every plan and ambition I ever had. Because of this, I understand despising yourself and feeling useless and/or powerless, and I will gladly help you with your struggle whenever you ask me to. Not even a Chihuahua? While their logic is stupid, they should NEVER be left without the permanent presence of another dog and/or a beloved human because of extreme anxiety issues.
