New Sponsor: Easy Opt Outs!
Added 2024-11-05 12:19:34 +0000 UTCA few weeks ago, I (Nate) made a mistake and uploaded a VIP video that included the sponsor pitch for our sponsor at the time, JMP Chat. To our surprise however, a lot of people were happy about this mistake. Many listeners had never heard of JMP before and were interested in the service, and several people requested that we keep VIP listeners informed about new sponsors so they can continue to be made aware of new, trusted services we work with. To that end, I just wanted to quickly share with our patrons that we've partnered with Easy Opt Outs. Easy Opt Outs is a data removal service that ranked highly in recent Consumer Reports research regarding the efficacy of data removal services (see here). Easy Opt Outs ranked #2 at 65% effective, behind only Optery at 68% (for context, manual was found to be 70% effective). Unlike Optery, however, Easy Opt Outs is only $20/year. Furthermore, they only request data removal if they find your data (rather than doing a mass-opt-out system and potentially giving your data to companies who never had it in the first place), they don't share your data with third-party contractors or employees, they have no analytics or ads on their website, they offer refunds if you're not satisfied with the service, and they also have business plans if you're a business owner looking to give a perk to your employees. (Note that currently, Easy Opt Outs only operates in the US.)
