Do Henry and Nate ever come to a privacy topic where they both have conflicting opinions?

Hello, huge fan of the podcast and the host! Just had a noob question. How do I navigate and avoid the "elitism" in the privacy community? I've had help from the group signal chat and got directed to the Tech Lore forums, but how would someone do this on their own? Better yet, how would I even know if something is considered "elitism" vs. actually good advice?

Hi. I'm trying to figure out what is the minimally sufficient set of Librewolf extensions to block unwanted content (ads, malicious code, data collecting, 3rd party websites). I currently have ublock origin and privacy badger. I don't remember if any of the two came preinstalled with Librewolf, I actively use ublock while privacy badger works in the background without intervention. I was wondering if I can replace privacy badger with just ublock. What do you think? In general can you elaborate a little bit what is the overlap in functionality and the interaction between all of this extension that do some form of content blocking (not just the two I mentioned)?

Why do you guys think companies get away with general claims that data they collect are anonymous/anonymized since, objectively, that unspecified notion is meaningless? After all, anonymity is not an intrinsic property of the data proper (such as size or checksum would be). Rather, it is the property of the relationship between data the one handling the data. Thus, data anonymity has no meaning if the handler is not specified, and the handler can and often does change after the data have already been collected. For example, no data are anonymous to the person to whom they belong, i.e. the one with whom the data originated, even if his/her name is not on it. And in the world of expanding biometrics and digital "fingerprinting" one's name proper may not even be the most reliable/unique personal identifier. Also, data that are anonymous to an ordinary person who is not a dedicated stalker with insider knowledge are not necessarily anonymous to one who is more plugged in and experienced in navigating the private surveillance ecosystem. And finally few data are anonymous to big tech, when it comes to its customers or to the state when it comes to its inhabitants. And in the world where FBI indictments call out by name individual employees of adversary countries' cyberintelligence services, it is unclear if any type of anonymity can survive if enough resources are thrown at it.

I've been having issues with privacy.com, over the past couple months I've increasingly been getting purchases refunded because the privacy.com cards seem to trigger companies "fraudulent purchase detection" and Its getting more and more frustrating. Have you guys personally experienced this? Anything we can do or is it out of our control?
