Lucy couldn't tell a waiter or her hair lady that she was unsatisfied, of course she wouldn't be able to break up with Raj in any other way than over text. I think it made the most sense for her character.

Ep 3 always reminds me of this movie from the early 2000s... One of those... really dumb but really fun movies? That you enjoy as a teenager but are a little afraid to watch as an adult? XD. It was called Saving Silverman, and it was Jason Biggs, Jack Black, and Steve Zahn, and half of the story was how they were obsessed with Neil Diamond. Seeing Amy and Howard's love for Neil makes it seem like they would have fit right in with them!

I think Raj would have gotten away with the ending if he had said that making them all run around all day looking for a prize they had on them the whole time was payback for none of them coming to his murder mystery party. If he had gone with that, they’d have been pissed, but would have had to let it go. Trying to pitch it as some bonding exercise was poor writing and a missed opportunity.

I think it’s actually pretty common for people to be curious about their partners childhood especially when they don’t like to discuss it. That can often make people even more curious. However I will say that I don’t think Leonard’s childhood was so damaging that he can’t function as an adult, which is how I think a lot people tend to take many of these tidbits. In reality I think that his mother’s parenting style made Leonard very insecure and that makes his life and relationship messy at times but generally I would still say that he is a well adjusted person and not as fragile as some people make him out to be. Penny to her credit has played a big part in that. Being with Penny has given Leonard a backbone, it's also inflated his ego which was previously something that usually only came up about maters of science and intellect. Now, he gets a swell head more often about his relationship with Penny,
and particularly with this episode his childhood trauma didn’t seem to bother Leonard as soon as he realized that he could exploit’s Penny guilt and empathy for his own gain So I don’t necessarily feel bad for him here. Penny let curiosity get the best of her but ultimately made up for it.
Leonard was kind of smug about it too which shows that he was more annoyed about her reading the book than he was genuinely upset about it.

I love these episodes and and the show in general but one thing that bugs me about episode 4 is penny buying and reading that book. Leonard definitely took advantage of her trying to make him feel better but penny knows how manipulative his mom is and how many insecurities and resentment he has towards his childhood and being her own experiment. Especially when we know he has a brother and sister as well so the mom seems to very much single him out. Now to be fair she says it was part of her recommended reading for her class but still you can read any other book thats also recommended. I get why it would be the one she's drawn to being about her BF but especially after he voices his issues with it I'm surprised penny still went through with it and even poked fun at him about how he still goes left. Of course funny episode and I appreciate the humor in it but due to how Leonard took advantage of the situation I feel it gets lost that the bigger issue to me is deciding to read the book knowing how he didnt want her to and knowing how his mom is.

I’ve learned some stuff from this show, for example: ‘14’ is the atomic number of silicon, and I’ve never forgotten it, lol.

7x03 is one of the greatest episodes of the series. Fun fact: It’s Kaley Cuoco’s (Penny) personal favorite episode.

I love that Raj included at least a couple of clues that Penny would be able to solve, the beginning puzzle and where to find the map coordinates; he really is quite empathetic at heart.
The last line of that one clue was "... leave no stone unturned." As Penny looked around she spied the "Rolling Stones" poster on the door, turned it over and voilà - map coordinates!☺️👍
For all of Bernadette's constant complaining about Leonard, she didn't contribute Any help in solving the clues, as far as I could tell! All she did was vociferously berate Leonard as He solved each clue. Wolverine cage match, indeed, lol!😏😄
