I have lots of other favorite moments of the show, but I think as far as episodes go, I think 6x12 is my favorite episode. Between Ricardo Shilly-Shallie, Egg Salad Sandwiches, Lenard's I'm sorry song with the violin, Howard being on a first name basis and "How are Tom and the kids?" with the HR lady... it's just a really fun episode.

First of all, I think that's just amazing that you're an integral part of 4 D&D groups; esp. to be in a group that includes friends you've known since H.S.! I would love to be involved in a fun & interesting group like D&D! The themes always appealed to me, I love using my imagination and I love games!π
As far as Amy being denied entrance to their game.. I completely understand the point you were making.. and if this particular game night hadn't been set aside as "guys night", then Sheldon absolutely should have invited her! While his "I'm sorry, you can't" was rather abrupt (in textbook Sheldon fashion), he did at least explain to her that this game night was just for the guys.
What I wish he had added was that 'he would Love to have her play, and if it were any other night he would definitely ask her to join. Next D&D night, for sure! I hope you understand, Amy.'

Sheldon really irked me in the first episode by not inviting Amy to D&D. Women play TTRPGs, too! I have since I was a teenager, and it's always been in mixed-gender groups. In fact, I'm going to one tonight.
All these years later, one of my 4 groups (yes, 4, because now I'm retired and can) has three of my friends from high school! We're pretty proud of that, lol. Tabletop Roleplaying Games (TTRPGs) involve creative storytelling, cooperative problem solving, and socializing. You can run book adventures or invent your own story, even your own entire world. I've both played in and run games for over 30 years. Honestly, if Raj's character had died, he would have been able to create and play a backup character that early in the game. I can't say this show depicts D&D (or any TTRPG) in much of a realistic manner. It actually makes it look kind of silly.
I have never played in a single-gender group. Amy should 100% been invited the moment she expressed interest, at least to see if she fits with the group dynamic.
