Because Wil and Sheldon made up during a previous episode. And...I forget his name but the guy who played Data became his nemesis in the same episode.

Stacey, I just wanted to say I'm so sorry for your loss, my heart goes out to you! It's so difficult to lose a parent at any age.. I hope that you can draw some comfort from the memories you have of your dear dad, and the times you both shared over the years.

I don't definitively know why Will Wheaton's character veered from being Sheldon's nemesis and into a kind-hearted friend of his and the rest of the group. What I have heard from a few sources is that Will began to have "problems in his personal life" with some fans not liking him anymore based upon his image of himself in TBBT, whereas others would come up to him as if he wasn't a celebrity at all, but rather as if he were a friend like the gang came to know and treat him on the show..πŸ™„ I know that Will has always suffered with Depression, pretty severe at times. As someone who also deals with severe Depression, I've always appreciated his openness with his fans as to what he goes through, how it affects him.. he is a big proponent of making Mental Health issues just as important to talk about openly as you would any other health related concerns, and remove the stigma that still remains to this day(though fortunately, things are getting better in that regard).. I've found his ways of managing it, his philosophy on the issue to be inspiring! I've never seen this mentioned anywhere, it is strictly my own speculations, but I wonder if the way some fans began reacting to him because of his portrayal of his pseudo-self on the show didn't start to get to him, and perhaps they thought it best to humanize "him" more on the show.. but again, just speculation on my part, I don't know.🀷 I imagine that it's one thing for an actor to play a "bad guy" on TV, and it's quite another to supposedly be portraying yourself on a show where they have "you" acting like a mean-spirited, manipulative shmuck!πŸ˜‰ I know that Will got onto the show because he loved it from the beginning and just happened to mention online how much he enjoyed TBBT. Bill Prady's assistant was instructed to reach out to him via email, offering for him to guest star on the show. Initially he dismissed the email as just a joke, but eventually the show made contact with him and he jumped at the chance to be on; he said, like so many other actors, that "it's always more fun to play a villain". And that was exactly what the creators & writers originally wanted from his character, a nemesis for Sheldon!πŸ‘Ί

Wil Wheaton was wearing The Guild t-shirt! That is a funny mid-2000s series about a group of loner geek gamers who play online together but end up meeting IRL. It was a web series that starred Felicia Day, 6 seasons of very short episodes (each less than 15 minutes), and I believe it can still be found on YouTube's Geek & Sundry channel. Might be a fun thing to react to after TBBT, as it wouldn't take very long to go through it. And I just realized after I don't know how many times of watching this that Howard's headboard in his bedroom is THE SAME ONE I had in my first house! Exactly the same! Woah.

Kaley Cuoco said that she didn't know until the table reading that they had secretly changed her script, adding the line "..You know I love you!.." As she was saying her lines and came to that part in the revised script she said she could barely get through it, and started to cry!πŸ₯Ή She said filming that scene was the first time that she really felt like she was Penny. Johnny Galecki said he was really moved by the table read and even moreso, during the actual scene... his emotions that we saw in the episode were very genuine. Johnny and Kaley both shared that "when it came time to film it they felt like they were all alone during the scene, without noticing the production staff and the audience", and they did it in just one take!β˜ΊοΈπŸ’— Johnny and Kaley had privately been dating for two years before amicably breaking up, and they remained really close. Their relationship ended about 2-3 yrs prior to this episode, but I can't help but think that this scene might have particularly touched them both and brought out very real personal emotions intermixed with being in character, given that they had been in love with each other just a few years prior to this episode. But maybe that's just me.. πŸ˜‰β˜ΊοΈ
