Question for Buffy fans...
Added 2025-02-05 13:19:32 +0000 UTCI just filmed the first episode of S7 and will have that out tomorrow. However I did realize that it will be almost a year before I can see how everything wraps up at this current rate, so...
For this final season, would you rather I continue the SlayAlive watch order alternating between reactions of Buffy & Angel every week, or would you rather I release 1 Buffy reaction every week and just watch Angel off camera?

Definitely react to them both because there are pretty big moments that happens in both so some things that happen on one show that will sort of blend to the other show in a way. Also, season 4 of Angel has so many great moments that I would love to see your ON AIR reaction to so please continue as you've been doing.

Of course I love your Buffy reactions too, it's my favorite show. I'm looking forward to S7 reaction. But my opinion would be to keep going on with the Slay Alive watch order. It's worth it in the end. Not just for us, but for you too to experience both shows.

2025-02-08 08:24:40 +0000 UTCYeah, I agree with this idea. There are some other shows that most (or at least many) Buffy/Angel fans will probably stick around for afterwards to make up for the "lost" time revenue-wise of a tighter/quicker schedule.

I wasn't a big fan of the last couple seasons of Angel, but that's just me. I can see the majority of people would prefer the SlayAlive watch order, though, so no big deal. ALSO -- did you see that Hulu is nearing a deal with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Chloe Zhao to shoot a pilot episode for a Buffy reboot?? Joss Whedon wouldn't be attached to it (cuz of all the problematic stuff that came out about him), but Sarah would be reprising her role with Chloe directing. I'm skeptical about it (especially if many of the OG's won't be returning), but with SMG being involved, there is hope!

2025-02-05 16:58:26 +0000 UTCI agree, continue Angel also. Aside from some critical cross-overs the last seasons on both were well ... can't spoil ... but deffo worth the watch. The shows when they aired were intended to be watched in alternating fashion (again ... cross-overs). Though in your case you might have the 'sync' wrong (i.e. Angel should be further along if memory serves).

I don’t care for Angel (the show) so I don’t watch those and I got frustrated with weeks of no Buffy so I just quit watching them entirely and figured I’d catch back up eventually. But like I said, grain of salt. I imagine most people would prefer you continue as you have been. I’m probably just one of those rare Buffy lovers that doesn’t care for Angel.

Love both shows (though I think I love Angel just slightly more) and TBH, we do the same in the server streams on Buffyverse so it's familiar/comfortable to me personally. I've always felt it's more immersive, as both series are almost seen as one in the fandom. But overall, do what makes sense to you.

The seasons you just watched have the fewest crossovers, but they remedy that next season. I'm not in a rush for you to finish Buffy. I would continue what you're doing right now.

2025-02-05 13:35:44 +0000 UTCOf all the seasons, you want to watch these separately and off camera? If anything Buffy S7 and Angel S4 have the most essential crossovers. Why not devote 2-3 buffyverse episodes per week to finish a universe instead of starting new shows.

Yes, there is a crossover is BS7/AS4... but it isn't really essential to understanding the shows. When I first watched, I only saw Buffy. I didnt watch any episodes of Angel until years later. I was never confused or lost by watching only one side of the crossovers. Angel season 4 and 5 has some WILD moments that would be fun to watch with you... but my heart is for Buffy. As long as you finish that series, I'll be content haha
