Fun fact: my ex bought the house next door to me! But he's not as annoying as Janice, not to say it hasn't been weird at times 😅

Mary Kate

" his trying to speak French is the funniest subplot" I can not for the life of me understand how you guys can like friends, and find this funny ? can someone explain exactly what is funny about this. This is the lowest it got in terms of joke, like it doesn't even seems like it is from the same writers

Rebecca B1

So weird that this is the part you think is the best ? To each their own but Joey speaking french is in my opinion the worst episode of the entire show because of how dumb and stupid it is lol.

Rebecca B1

I was so sure you were gonna see Janice coming, especially after the realtor mentioned that another woman was inside looking at the house, and that she had a husband and two kids, which we know from the last two seasons was Janice’s life now. So glad you didn’t catch on.

IMO Season 9 kinda sucks outside of Pheobe and Mike, Aisha Tyler (Charlie) and the thanksgiving with Rachel's sister. I hate the retred of Joey and Rachel. If they would have never brought it up again after "My boss wants to buy my baby" It would have been perfect, imo. BUT, season 10 bounces back and has so many great episodes. Joey speaking french and Joey doesn't share food are amazing.

Takato

Oh. Em. Gee. I wish Scrubs would be the next show you watch. I really think you would like that show A LOT.

the 15th episode taught us, that if you name your child Ross, he's definitely going to love dinosaurs. 😂😂😂🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 🦖 Honestly, Estelle looks good in the photograph during the funeral, what is Joey's issue? Melrose Place is an American prime-time television soap opera that aired on Fox from July 8, 1992, to May 24, 1999, for seven seasons. It was about the lives and relationships of a group of young adults who live in the elegant Spanish-style apartments of the Melrose neighborhood in Los Angeles.

Also your reaction to Joey’s goodbye was awesome. Lol. It was such a dark joke.

Monica and Rachel crying. “I just don’t know what I’m gonna do without you” “You’re the greatest friend I ever had.” “I just can’t imagine not seeing you every day…” I speak ugly cry. Lol This episode makes me cry every time.

Josh Z i agree the goal of a genre should be generally stick to it, for example in this case, a situational comedy. and if one part of it made you laugh more than ever, amazing, keep enjoying those scenes. I disagree with an 'its still fiction' excuse, devaluing art and the effort put into it as well as the take away of the viewer. There are lots of sitcoms out there and they deal with exaggeration, comedy and characters in various way. Some disappoint because the writer&artist set the bar very high at the beginning. If Chandler cheated on Monica with Janice, for example, it could be funny, but it would betray the work that was done on the product/character.

i have never cried at chandlers goodbye before 😭😭😭 i feel like i just mourned matthew perry for the first time.

Erika

speaking of favourite moments - mine are Ross getting tanned, and also 'Red Ross: "MY SANDWICH!!!"'

Michael Wicks

Agreed. I wish he had tried having an honest and mature conversation in the beginning, asking her what she wanted, rather than making it about him wanting her not to leave.

Anjali Agarwal

am i crazy or does nicks intro sound like it was written BY chandler? 😂😂

Erika

I personally never put much stock in early season characterization especially for sitcoms. They almost always start out bland and then focus on very specific flaws for comedic effect. Joey is stupider over the course of the series because it makes us laugh. I fully admit that his trying to speak French is the funniest subplot of the entire series to me and I will not apologize for it. The goal of any sitcom should be funny even if the jokes, situations and characters are quite exaggerated. It's still fiction at the end of day and they only made the decisions that they made with characters because the actors do such a great job and it and the response is laughter

Josh Z

Yeah I'm with you and I completely disagree with the people that say that the show got bad or it fell off, absolutely not every season of friends is great some more than others I do have my favorite season which is season 3 Thanksgiving football and the one where no one is ready are my two favorite episodes lol

Ross and Joey are both an example of the inner child who cannot be altruistic because he's losing emotional support and feels abandoned. Joey is open about it and throws a tantrum about Rachel leaving - twice, the second time when he tries to jump. Ross is doing the "Adult way of being immature". He hides how he feels because of a mix of trying to be supportive and being afraid of revealing how he feels. He sneaks and manipulates behind her back, trying to defend it with the excuse that she said she was scared. Though she was very obviously excited the moment she announced it. Finally at the couch when Rachel , who has no idea he had been messing with her feelings about her two jobs, expresses how she feels more clearly, Ross's mature, adult and altruistic side finally speaks up and her inner child has to wait for him hopefully figure out how to take care of him. They're framing it as Ross sacrificing stuff when in fact he's just crossing lines and interferring and messing with Rachel's feelings about her life choices.

I'm just bummed I've gotta wait a week from now to watch the finale reaction!!

I think the fact that we get 5 different "goodbye" scenes and they all feel different yet appropriate is a testament to how well the show has fleshed out not only the 6 character, but all their relationships to each other.

ozz

Shoot… I thought you were going to do the last 3 episodes. There is only episode 17 left titled “The Last One” but it’s in 2 parts. If you look close in these 2 episodes, Courtney Cox is pregnant and starting to show so they’re trying to hide it with her clothes.

Tara

I love your reaction to all of Janice's appearances xD

🤣 How did Phoebe call Joey from her own phone, pretending to be Estelle, without him noticing it's her calling? I think in 2003 he'd see Phoebe's number when the phone rang... I agree that this season is consistent with quality. I generally don't see much change in overall quality of the seasons, maybe apart from season 1 a bit.AAAND the actors are acting their butts off, they're amazing!!!Some fans might simply not like it as much because it is the final one, and it often feels that way, Monica is leaving her appartment which is the main set of the show.... and everyone is dealing with more "grownup" stuff and a little less of having silly problems and silly solutions. However, I also agree that the characters are almost completely different people by now - and not always for the better. Chandler has mostly grown into a kinder and wiser man with more or less the same humor. Monica, however, is much more loud and irrational than in seasons 1 and 2, for comedic effect mostly, but it is weird watching her back-to-back compared with season 2 for example, and then 8 or 10. Phoebe is more selfish and mean, though that was gradually happening since season 5. She still does kind things and says whimsical stuff, but she is much more dishonest often. After she gave the birth to the triplets, she is so much more hypocritical and has a mean streak at times. And it did seems as if she randomly out of nowhere started hating Chandler since around s5. Maybe the writers tried to rectify it by having him give her away at the altar. Rachel is certainly more self-sufficient, and she treats the friends as family, but she's at times not as kind as in the first two seasons. The way she mocks science and knowledge, especially aimed as Ross and Chandler, could be an attempt of showing how close she is to the others, being able to tease them, but it comes off mean when you compare it to her earlier scenes. Joey seems to be the most jarring for most of the fans - compared to season 1, he's reduced to an absurdly dumb child. The failure to learn 3 words in French pushed fans over the edge. Ross ... David Schwimmer seems so vulnerable here. His performance often saves a lot of writing that would just be messed up. Just let Rachel choose her career and maybe you could move to France for your daughter? ... stop the manipulation behind her back already, you're a grownup...

Yeahh the video I am waiting for today 👌🏻🥰
