Buffy was not all that hurt about Spike's date at the wedding. I think she's hurt here because it looks like he chose one of Buffy's friends on purpose. If he had sex with
some random stranger, then I don't think Buffy would feel as terrible as in this case. It looks like he did it on purpose to mess with Xander, to mess with Buffy's friendship with Anya, the location also seems like Spike picked it on purpose hoping to get caught.

Xander is so out of line.

Also…brace yourself for 19 and on for the rest of the season. Arguably the darkest stretch of episodes and more disturbing content of the series. The actor who plays Spike has said he’s got a clause in his contract to not have any scenes like he has coming up anymore cause it disturbed him so much.

He has a tendency to pass judgment on characters based on good guy vs bad guy categories.

Pay attention to the opening credits in episode 19. It’s a bit important

Ian Ramsey I do see difference between human Anya in 2000s and the old demon Anyanka, however, the demon who re-established Anya, told Halfrek at the wedding that he loves them all equally. He surely doesn't love Anya for the human she is. Nick responded there that he would love Anya more. But the demon guy loves Halfrek, Anya and anyone else as demons, not as beloved human characters on a TV show that
are trying to do good. Nick, as the demon who never watched this show, would not be fair, as he himself said...

You don't see any difference between present-day Anya and the old Anyanka (which Halfrek represents)? How about between Angel and Angelis? What's the point of Anya being a main character then?

I think Nick's reaction to Halfrek had less to do with anything Helfrek did, and more because she's just annoying. LOL

Xander and Buffy have a right to feel their feelings. However, I firmly believe that Spike and Anya did *nothing* wrong. They had both been dumped, and one had flatly been told to move on. They were hurting and took solace with one another, consenting adults. I can understand Buffy's hurt look/glare at Spike, even though she was the one to tell him to move on; she's hurt that it didn't appear he was pining away for her still. Xander, however, was absolutely in the wrong. He had zero right to confront them and attack Spike.
Guess we'll have to see if there's any fallout from this. At least we can be happy for Willow and Tara.

❤️ love these reactions.
omg, 😂why hate on Halfrek who punishes people for mistreating kids, but not on Anya who did horrible stuff to punish men for mistreating women?
