The girl playing Kori was Sam (Ivana Milicevic) from the Buffy ep 'As You Were' - She was Riley's wife.

And speaking of Buffy connections, the guy who called Chandler to tell him he got the job was Buffy's (very) temporary counsellor from S3 Ep.4.

seen this episode dozens of times and am just now realizing the woman who came to ross' funeral is the same actress who played riley's wife on buffy. i think i only realized it this time because you just watched that buffy episode recently too and i watched that reaction right before watching this one lol

The lottery episode is my fourth favorite episode! the episodes work best when its all six of them in one room, thats why my top three are Season three Thanksgiving football, season three the one where no ones ready and season four the lightning round! lol

The Geller-Bing combination is hilarious every time! When those three are together, you know the episode will be funny: the Thanksgiving episodes, the Scottish wedding present from Ross, the episode with secrets: Ross with food poisoning over tacos, Monica could not tell the time and Chandler kissing a guy, etc.

really, a bottle episode? i guess "The One Where No One's Ready" qualifies for that name, too. and also the Thanksgiving episode with Rachel's sister Amy, mostly in Monica's appartment. To me, so many Friends episodes seem like bottle episode, because of the format. It's
different with Breaking Bad, where The Fly is clearly a bottle episode because not much seems to change and it all happens in
one set, but Friends often has only one set and many episodes often seem to not move plot along much, which is ok considering how long the seasons are. in this one, Chandler
at least gets the job.

there is an "unofficially obligatory" lotery every year in Spain, and most people participate because of peer pressure of coworkers and families.
Advertising for the Extraordinary Christmas Lottery has become traditional, taking place in the winter advertising campaign, which in turn is framed within other characteristic advertisements of the season.
There is also a summer campaign dedicated to encouraging holidaymakers to buy a lottery ticket from the place where they have gone to spend their holidays.
Ads featuring the character popularly known as the Bald Man from the Lottery have gained great media relevance. The character itself represented the spirit and luck of Christmas.
It's one of the most important and popular lottery draws held in Spain, every December 22 - drawing traditionally takes place on this date.
The maximum prize is called El Gordo.
In 2022, with 180 million pre-printed €20 tickets to sell (décimos), the maximum total amount available for all prizes would be €2.52 billion (seventy per cent of ticket sales). The total amount for the grand prize El Gordo would be €720 million.
The Royal National Lottery of Spain was created as an institution in November 1812.

Hugsy is iconic and that whole thing just shows even more how Joey is just a child in a grown man's body 😂 But he's certainly a great friend. And even though it was Ross, that storyline in E17 is rough, especially now since it's almost a year since Matty died 💔 I agree, I wish people would say how they feel about someone while they're still alive. And I've never bought a lottery ticket either but not because of the low chances but because I've just never been interested in it. I've also heard some horror stories about people who have won a large sum of money (which is very rare) and it absolutely destroyed them. Having that much money can literally drive someone mad. So it's not for me. I would be pisssed though if I bought so many tickets and I won but because of a stupid decision someone made I'd lose it!
Fun facts/continuity:
E18 is called a "bottle episode" where the crew has a limited budget. This is why most of the show takes place in Monica and Chandler's apartment, aside from the opening/closing scenes at Central Perk and the couple of seconds Chandler is on the phone with his boss. This is also why these kind of episodes consists of mostly the main cast.
When Rachel is on the phone to her mum, Rachel says that she's having trouble understanding her because of her new lips. In 9x08, Amy says that their mum had her lips done.
In E18, Phoebe tells Monica and Ross "get a room". She previously said the same thing in the tag scene of 4x08 where Chandler and Kathy kissed in front of them all and in 5x24 after Monica and Chandler made up in Vegas.
The "I never get picked!" line Rachel says in E18 refers to 3x09, where she's picked last in the football game.
In E18, Chandler says "I'll get it, I'll get it, I'll get it" just like Monica did back in 4x08.
In E17, on the coat rack in Phoebe's apartment you can see the jacket she stole in 9x12.
Rachel was also the first to hear Ben speak his first word in 2x20, which was "Hi".
I don't know if you've seen Love Actually but Ivana Milicevic who plays Kori played one of the American girls that one dude was with.
Goof: In E17, Courteney Cox looks like she's going to burst out with laughter when Chandler tells Monica that people think she's a man probably because of the way she stands 😂
