When Chandler is in the bath... on the extended version, he says in his head "...I could fall asleep in here... I could drown in here.... mmmm, drowning...." which is how he died. :'(

Joey falling for Rachel really did come out of nowhere but I'm not mad at it. It sucks for Joey but it's nice when he actually cares about women and is all sweet. Still ship Ross and Rachel though. In the bloopers for the scene when Ross arrives late at the hospital in E14, David actually runs past the waiting room causing Jennifer & Matt to burst out laughing. In the next take, Matt and Jen hide so when David walks in he can't see them and leaves. He also forgets/mixes up his lines and Jen says "What happened to you? You used to be able to act. You were so good!" It's hilarious 🤣 https://youtu.be/6AzvqIXFPTM?si=YvNM-2ZgZqE5IWkz Chandler's "I married Fred Sanford" in E14 is a reference to the 1970s sitcom Sanford and Son, where Fred Sanford is a junk dealer. Chandler then proceeds to sing the Sanford and Son theme song. Also, Chandler's "I'm gonna need a bigger boat" in E13 is of course a reference to Jaws. And Joey's "easy there, Captain Kirk" to Chandler is referencing Captain James T. Kirk who was the captain of the USS Enterprise in the original Star Trek series and the first 7 films. In the opening scene of E13, Joey is wearing a t-shirt with the emblem for the FDNY (New York City Fire Department) with the name Capt Billy Burke. He was a NYC firefighter who died on 9/11. Callback: Ross accidentally tells Rachel the sex of their baby just like Rachel accidentally told Ross the sex of his and Carol's baby. Matthew Perry received his only Emmy nomination of the series for E13. Goofs/Continuity errors: The closet has been seen open before, not locked and nit full of junk. Examples: 1x12 (slightly open), 1x13 (open during the final scene) and 6x10 (Rachel opens the closet to look for Christmas presents so it wasn't locked then and probably not full of junk, otherwise Rachel would've mentioned it). Phoebe acts as if it's the first time she's massaging Monica but in 7x13, Phoebe said that she had "only two clients all year and were the worst tippers in the world" - she was referring to Ross and Monica. In 1x02 Ross turns down the name Helen for his child with Carol, but in E13 it is one of his suggestions for his baby with Rachel.

No, it's because of the candy bar. Baby Ruth

Lee Majors is an American actor. He portrayed the characters of Heath Barkley on the American television Western series The Big Valley Colonel Steve Austin on the American television science-fiction action series The Six Million Dollar Man (1973–1978), and Colt Seavers on the American television action series The Fall Guy (1981–1986). he was in his 60s when this episode aired. Phoebe loves older men, as it was often demonstrated.❤️ Mia Hamm is an American former professional soccer player, two-time Olympic gold medalist and two-time FIFA Women's World Cup champion.

in 2020, a BoJack Horseman character names her baby Ruthie. but in 2001, it was only for 89 year olds. Babe Ruth was an American professional baseball player, regarded as one of the greatest sports heroes in American culture. Maybe that's why Rachel stops at "baby Ruth". 🤣 Oh, no, Phoebe, you're right. A person who likes science cannot be cute or popular. no way. 🙄

I love Joey and Rachel so I loved this arc very much.

Tia

I was all for the Rachel and Joey storyline. I never thought of them two being a thing but when this started happening it was nice. It never bothered me.

Nanon ApoBangpo⁷

Nope, I love it, too. It feels organic to me, I love seeing him open up like this, too, and I like where it all ends up, too

Mary Kate

Whenever I think back to losing interest in the show during its initial run, Joey and Rachel come immediately to mind. There is no pairing of those six people I want to see less than those two. I hate that storyline. I would rather see Chandler leave Monica for Ross, or Joey and Ursula get married.

DWM

I think I am one of the only people who enjoy the Joey/Rachel story line lol this part of it anyway, I love seeing Joey show real feelings for a woman.

Jeanette Dawe

So you watch the edited for TV versions; the DVDs have the uncut version which has extra dialogue and when Phoebe tells Monica she makes sex noises, Monica says, "That's why Alexandra (the masseuse) wears earplugs when she gives me a massage" Lol

MrsLolly27

Also I don’t know how Courtney Cox got through those lines with the massage. Hilarious.

Kelly

I love this show, but the Joey/Rachel thing is just bad to me…because I like Joey, but him being romantic with Rachel feels unnatural. Rachel and Ross feels less like a sibling relationship to me, and to me, Joey feels like a brother to the girls on this show. Rachel and Ross feel like good friends with actual love and chemistry.

What a nice surprise to wake up to; getting this Friday's Friends ep early. Made my day already!
