They were so angry at the cast and crew that they were throwing buckets of urine and trash into the street, knowing that they would be laying down and crouching in it. Bleh.

2024-08-08 21:13:19 +0000 UTCIt was more than just sacrifice for Darla. She really didn't want to go back to her old soulless and evil self. Couldn't bear the thought of that. Julie Benz did earn a much longer stay in the Buffyverse because Whedon and others were big fans of her acting. They had to keep coming up with ways to bring her back. The pregnancy, obviously, being the most outrageous. But it works in the long run because of her acting.

2024-07-24 10:14:31 +0000 UTCThis is a fantastic episode for sure. I have really enjoyed Julie's work in Angel so much more during this rewatch. She and David did a phenomenal job in the alley scene - it's absolutely heartbreaking. The concept that Darla loved her son so much that she sacrificed her life so that he could live instead was fascinating. Even though Darla didn't have a soul, it was like she shared her son's soul. I found your reaction to Holtz's last line very interesting. Season 3 is going so strong!

2024-07-20 02:19:17 +0000 UTCYes Julie Benz is great but the entire Buffyverse wouldn’t exist without the phenomenal talent of SMG. She can act a dramatic scene without uttering a single world. She has exceptional comedic timing. And she makes a believable kickass heroine. People never gives her enough credit. Another brilliant actor is James Marsters as witnessed in the episode Fool for Love in which he interprets to perfection the multiple aspects of his character from hopeless romantic William to Spike the killer of Slayers to lovesick Spike.
