This reaction was amazing! This movie is a classic and based on your reaction in the end, you MUST watch Part 2 and I do not care what anyone says. You have to watch the Superman II Richard Lester theatrical version. That is the version we all watched for decades before we knew of another version. So, I recommend watching that movie without question. Some of your additional questions will be answered there. Also you definitely should watch Smallville whenever you have another show to add to your show collection OR even the Lois & Clark show! actually I would be one of them to recommend the Lois & Clark show first since it came out first and all. I am Superman fanatic though. lol

When this movie came out, the tagline was, "You'll believe a man can fly." And when many of us all over the world saw it, we did.
I don't think Superman was reading Lois's mind. It was just a way of showing her thoughts without her having to say them literally. I always thought it was a clever way of showing that.
Christopher Reeve makes this movie. His acting is so good. I buy that Lois doesn't know he's both, but it's not just the glasses. It's the way his voice and mannerisms change. In this version, Clark is such a big oaf (but loveably so) that no one would think it was the same man. At least, that's the idea, and Reeve plays it so well that I can do what the movie is asking--believe.
I saw this movie for the first time when I was seven, I think, and I still remember being in awe. Over thirty years later, I still feel a rush watching that helicopter scene. Thirty years later, and the scene where he flies with Lois, when the music is playing and we hear her voiceover, it still moves me to tears.
What a fun reaction, you two. This made my night.
Yes, you have to watch part two. As much as I love this film, I like the second one even more. Skip three and four. They're horrible.
If you're ever looking for lots more Superman, I've love for you to react to the show Smallville. It's a wonderful show that explores the lore in great detail. If you ever want a question about Superman answered, Smallville does it. It also pays beautiful homage to a lot of the iterations of Superman, including this film, and the second one. It's a long show, so it would be a hell of a commitment, but it's worth it.
If you watch 2, or Smallville, I'll be here for it. Thanks for a fantastic two hours.
