As far as recommendations...I don't know why, but Steel Magnolias is the first movie that popped into my head.

Movie never fails to make me tear up. I've always interpreted the "No Ray, it was you" to mean that it was all about helping Ray reconcile with his father, which was a regret Ray carried with him throughout his entire life. "Ease His Pain" included Ray, who was in a lot of pain over never getting the chance to say he was sorry and let his father know he loved him. And Ray carried that pain with him ever since his father died.
