Ross’s explanation could be used to justify any joke ever written about monkeys, cavemen, dinosaurs…it’s not a logical claim at all.

2024-02-23 21:41:34 +0000 UTCAlthough there's no evidence as to who really created the joke, Ross has tried to claim certain ideas as his own several times throughout the series. One notable instance is when he tries to convince his students that Jurassic Park was his idea. Also, I don't know if it's been confirmed but this is what I could find about the actual joke: "A woman goes to the doctor. The door says "Dr. Monkey". The woman enters and asks "Doctor, I 've been feeling very ill lately. Do you know what I can do?" The doctor answers "Do what makes me feel better. Suck on a banana." Originally the character of Janine was supposed to be in more episodes but Elle McPherson was unavailable due to living in London. Joey tells Gunther he doesn't want to go from being a regular on a soap opera to a waiter. In S2 Gunther tells Joey he used to be Bryce on All My Children (before he was killed off). The customer who hears Joey say "Sorry, this seat's saved" is J.D. Lewis — One of the top acting coaches in the world. Btw, Chandler's "I like... maintaining you" to Monica is SO sweet!
