Angel 2x15 FULL Reaction

This season of Angel just doesn't disappoint... we get the return of Palpatine, and likely the return of Angelus... the Dark Side of the force is strong and I'm loving it

Angel 2x15 FULL Reaction

Sex is not going to bring Angelus back. only true happiness can. Hell on Earth ... Angel is addiction allegory ... Angel is not growing up, like Buffy in her show, learning to embrace adulthood. Angel is an adult, a grown up dealing with depression and addiction and regret.

Viera Galikova

Angel snapped when human Darla's little bit of respite was taken by Drusilla. Since then, it's been one long effort on his part to make that loss count for something. From a story arc perspective, it makes sense that she's here to see that effort ultimately fail. "Abandon All Hope Ye Who Enter Here..." I believe is the message displayed at the gates. Her fear doesn't come from his shoving her through the glass door so much as it comes from seeing the emptiness on his face. It seems that anything, even Evil, is preferable to utter Despair. But is it enough?

There will be more lore coming concerning dimensions, including dimensions considered to be "heaven" or "hell," so I'll not go into detail here. Nor do I want to inadvertently spoil anything by saying too much. What I can say is that hell dimensions are demon dimensions with hostile living conditions, the range of which varies greatly. There are probably thousands in the Buffyverse; I don't know an exact count. Earth could be considered a hell dimension. In our real world, for most people it can be hostile, dangerous, frightening, with sorrow, despair, and rage, despite it also holding wonders, beauty, kindness, and real sweetness. Now throw in the demons and other monsters of the Buffyverse, and Earth is truly a hell dimension. Some fans of the show decry this episode's twist on Earth being the Home Office as hokey, lame, stupid, whatever. I actually think it's thought-provoking. What does hell mean to each of us? Is it the biblical version with a fallen angel? Is it a purgatory or limbo? Is it oblivion? Is it unique to each person? So yeah, I rather enjoyed this twist. And it was a treat to see Palpatine! Wolfram & Hart own his soul, so he's forced to work beyond the grave, though however they do that or in what form exactly, we don't know here.
