When Benny changes his sneakers to jump over the fence to get the baseball, he put on a pair of sneakers called PF Flyers. They were very popular shoes in the 60's when this movie takes place. When this movie was made in 1993, they had stopped making them around 1975 when the company was sold. I had a friend who was a costume designer and they made multiple pairs of the sneakers just for the movie. They had extras at the end of filming and she gave me a pair. Around 2001, New balance acquired PF Flyers and relaunched the brand and people can buy them today.
