it is cool how the show gradually subverts the boxes of jock,nerd,popular girl, etc. Monica and Phoebe have the jock,the nerd,the pretty girl, the lonely girl, the artist and the criminal stereotypes all as part of their personalities, and the rest of the friends have them too, though a little less visible.
