Friends 2x15 & 2x16 FULL Reactions

Comments

"So, Richard shopping in the junior section, huh?" "She's probably not even pretty, just young enough so everything is still pointing up." To be fair - Richard treats Monica as an equal. Their age difference never seems to affect how they communicate and make decisions. Sadly, neither of these two women - one of them being Monica's mother (!!!!!) bring up the fact that Richard dating an allegedly 20-year-old young woman who cannot yet legally drink alcohol in the USA, is unfair to her.... .... and that a relationship like that can be very imbalanced due to Richard's experience and lack of experience of the 20-year-old. They rush to judge the barely-grownup woman but they do not bother to judge Richard for taking advantage of a very young, less mature partner. Monica is closer to 30 than to 20, which is why i always assumed she was mature enough to make her own choices. Richard certainly always talked to her as to an equal. What bothers me personally more is her parents' reactions and the conversation Monica's mom has with a friend in front of Monica before they know who specifically is Richard dating and call her a "20 year old twinkie". Then, after Monica's parents find out about her and Richard, neither of them seem to be worried about her and her safety. They are very weirded out but it is not made clear why, it seems a bit as if, typical for Monica's mother, they are judging Monica here. Richard's joke later about how it's been long since he and Monica's father went running implies some anger directed at him, but it's just not as clear as all the anger the women shown in regards to the "twinkie" and of course, Monica's father and another man joking around about asking Richard to lend her to his friends as a sex toy. ...nobody worries about your safety but everyone rushes to judge you and blame you when you're female - this indeed was the 1990s in our real world.

Monica was closer to 30 than to 20 and was therefore mature enough to make her own choices, which is why i liked them together. What bothers me personally is her parents' reaction and the conversation Monica's mom has with a friend in front of Monica before they know who specifically is Richard dating... it's pretty sad. They don't seem to be worried about either their friend hurting a 20year old stranger or their own daughter getting hurt.

yes that is why I love watching reactors react to shows especially Friends. I get to watch it for the first time through their eyes lol And every reactor has a different take so it is refreshing hearing different reactors to certain episodes.

Jeanette Dawe

These reactions are so refreshing it feels like I'm watching the series for the first time :') thanks for these reactions <3

Heyo love the reactions! Im sure you know but you can get the original unedited version of friends on amazon for like 40$ it has the era's jokes and full scenes intact (ALOT was edited out) and honestly completes the show let alone brings more sense to the Friends personalities. Way more fun aswell*(side note) It would be fun to watch Real steel or Instant family with you Bro. Rarely do people do adoption movies and rarely are they fun or respectful but you got a great vibe and those 2 are fun. Keep it up Thor!

Cojuancidence

Richard and Monica are one of the best couples of the whole series!

The song that plays in the planetarium with Ross and Rachel is Wicked Game by Chris Isaak. You know him as the guy Phoebe dated when she was playing songs for the kids.

Tim Pierce

Tom Selleck as Magnum P.I. was my first crush (dating myself I know 😉) and was thrilled when he showed up on Friends. Selleck was the first choice to play Indiana Jones, and if it hadn’t been for his contract requirements for Magnum P.I. he would have played the role instead of Harrison Ford.

Richard is played by Tom Selleck, who is best known for Magnum P.I., Three Men and a Baby (and its sequel), and more recently, Blue Bloods. It's funny when Richard answers the door and Phoebe says "It's James Bond!", because Tom Selleck was actually considered for the role earlier in his career. Such a big age difference can be a problem in certain situations. But if neither person is underage I mind my own business. I agree with what you're saying about Joey living alone but I just hate how it happened. Him moving out is one of my least favourite parts of the show because of that (and for other reasons you will understand).

Heida

Love these Friends reactions😊 looking forward to watching the whole show with you.
