I love Friends so much, but the consistency problems definitely are evident in a lot of shows. In the first show when Carol and Susan are talking with Ross, the baby is a completely different baby halfway through the scene. The baby goes from a light blonde baby to a dark haired baby in just the opening. Like it’s not even close.

But the lesbian wedding episode broke barriers when it aired in 1996. It was the third gay marriage on TV and the FIRST lesbian wedding ever on TV. But you can still see how different it is compared to today. They didn't show the ceremony and Carol & Susan didn't even kiss. But again, we have to remember that even in the 90s things were so different. Gay marriage wasn't even legalised in New York until 2011. A fun fact though is that NBC expected a flood of phone complaints for portraying a lesbian wedding but they 'only' received 11 calls. Another fun fact is that the woman officiating the wedding is Candace Gingrich, an LGBT rights activist and sister to conservative Congressman Newt Gingrich. Matthew Perry ad-libbed (as he often did) Chandler throwing water at Joey and saying he forgot to close the toilet lid. You can clearly see Jennifer Aniston can't keep a straight face in that scene. And as a soap fan myself I can tell you that people like Erica really exist. They can't seem to separate the character from the actor. I remember Larry Hagman who played J.R. on Dallas once talked about when someone came up to him on the street and shouted "J.R. how could you do this to Sue Ellen?!" It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

2023-03-21 13:26:24 +0000 UTCI finally got to watch the reaction in full. It’s really cool seeing you get all the jokes. I had a blast! And I just wanted to add to Joey’s “smell the fart acting” technique cause I think I’ve caught some actors doing it in soaps. I remember there was an actor that stuttered a lot before getting lines out on General Hospital and you could sense he was trying to remember the next line haha. And in fact, James Franco did a stint on GH and in an interview he said how challenging it was because you have to remember so many lines in a short amount of time. Oh and final fun fact about Rachel’s comment about her wishing her mother would’ve just copied her hairstyle (instead of copying her new life). The hair you see now in S2 was incredibly iconic back then and Jennifer made that hairstyle iconic (I believe). I remember vaguely that a lot of people wanted their hair cut that way because of Rachel :)

You can google her when she was younger, to me she is just stunning! I'm also looking forward to seeing what you think of the zoo janitor scene because I think it was a total parody of film noir: "Ahh, the bat. Ambassador of darkness, flitting out of his cave like a winged messenger, sightless spectre of the macabe." His lines just kill me 😂Anyway,I always look forward to these Friends reactions. I can't wait! :)

Let me tell you that Joey's "stalker" is called Brooke Shields and she became famous, at first, for her role in "The Blue Lagoon", which was a somewhat controversial film in its time because of the nudity, which was not so normalized in that era. There are many cameos of well-known actors in different chapters and you can recognize it by the screams of the public when entering the scene. Ross really shined at Carol's wedding and also in the search for Marcel. I feel like it enhances the bad image Ross projected by making the infamous list, perhaps in preparation for a future second chance with Rachel. Great reactions, as always. It is very cool to see these series with such good company. Every time you say "I'm going to stop talking", from here I always tell you "don't stop, please, your analysis and reactions make watching this series even more entertaining." You know I'm a big fan of yours (not like Joey's stalker, anyway lol). Let's go for the next episodes. Thanks for brightening up my afternoon.
