Buffy the Vampire Slayer 4x3 FULL Reaction

My favorite episode of the season so far, Spike is ALWAYS a big win, but I also found Harmony hilarious (how did that happen) and I also really liked the themes about relationships and how painful they can often be..

Hi Thor, can you turn the volume up on the episode or turn down your commentary volume? I can’t hear the dialogue when you are commentating over it. Are you able to hear the dialogue when you are commenting? I’d hate for you to miss something. You mentioned Supernatural, have you seen the show? If not, I really hope you do a reaction. I really enjoy your insight and analysis and would love to hear your thoughts on the character development of Supernatural. PLEASE 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Dude, turn up your episode volume

The scar on Buffy's neck is from when Angel bit her in season 3 finale

I enjoyed your analysis. There was a purposeful parallel of Buffy waking up alone in Parker’s bed after their night together and her waking up alone in Angel’s bed in the same circumstances. I wouldn’t call a one night stand though. Poor Buffy! In what twisted parallel universe Harmony ever bullied Cordelia? It was the other way around. Cordelia was the bully in high school and Harmony looked up to her. What she did was make fun if her for dating Xander, the same guy that Cordelia used to despise.

Good analysis! Personally, I'm not a big fan of Anya, but her obliviousness can sometimes be endearing. I see her as a good reminder that living a long time does not guarantee you will become a wiser or more reasonable person. She often acts like a teenager (or even an uppity child) and I was always baffled considering her age. Similarly to how you can criticize Angel for not being more mature about certain things... Although, to be fair, it's not as bad in his case. Concerning Harmony, I just wanted to point out that we actually see her get bitten in the finale of season 3 (during the big battle). So, this was meant to surprise the viewers who thought she was dead. She is pretty funny, though, almost in a pathetic way at times. Spike is obviously using her, but she refuses to admit it. Just like... Buffy with Parker. Speaking of which, I remember being disappointed that Buffy flagellated herself the way she did. With everything she does and has gone through, I would have hoped she'd have more self-esteem. Nothing that an idiot like Parker can shatter. I always thought this was a case of the writers caring more about the theme of the episode than reasonable continuity with Buffy's character. And, yea, you are right. Buffy deciding to give the ring to Angel was a really good, smart decision. :)

Thematically I just found this episode so rich, not to mention how funny the Spike/ Harmony scenes were (as well as sad). Thank you!!
