Buffy the Vampire Slayer 3x4 FULL Reaction

Another killer episode, I couldn't believe Buffy and Angel crossed paths again so quickly.  I also was a big fan of the themes going on here... this Season does not disappoint!

i love this episode! i think it was a great way to get angel back considering how its explained later in the season. and for the second paragraph, i actually liked it. i loved that in this vicious animal state something inside him knows not to hurt buffy, even to protect her at the end. i think its a beautiful representation of how their love is deeper than their minds and hearts, their souls love each other no matter how insane they become

I love how accurately you predicted certain plot points with this episode (usually right before it happened), but then still look legitimately shocked when it played out. :)

Ahh, screw it. I keep accidentally posting because I'm used to hitting return, and Patreon will just delete me if I edit more than once. And I don't have enough "Wow, these S1 and S2 episodes are SO GREAT!" credit built up to give the infuriatingly-bad episodes of S3 the kicking they deserve without looking like a grouch. Just know that I haven't even hit half the things wrong with this episode (how tf does Angel know how to find Buffy and Pete at the climax? Why is he protecting Buffy if he was terrified of her and snarling at her the last time he saw her?). It's just a really stupid way to bring Angel back, "innocent" and injured so Buffy can ignore his half-season of mass-murder and terror, and the 'shippers can swoon. Married to a half-hearted "ABUSE IS BAD! No, really!!" script Marti Noxon churned out under duress, because the network was angry at her over the "Girls, forgive your abuser…even if he kills you!" theme of "I Only Have Eyes For You". Almost the only good part is Xander and Cordelia tenderly caring for Willow when she faints. And then we don't see them again until the tag (despite most of the episode happening during a school day), because why should they care that their friend is stressed out? Sigh.
