John is one of those Steven King characters who also has what he calls the “Shining”. Just like from the movie, the abilities pop up a lot in Kings work. You have to see his stories as all part of the same universe sometimes. oh and sorry to say but the actor who plays Percy is almost just as deplorable irl.

2022-05-02 13:55:05 +0000 UTCI think your initial assessments were spot on, there are so many layers to this story. I'm sure that people have even written dissertations on the content. I liked that John was portrayed with an almost childlike innocence despite the fact that he, indirectly, felt the worst emotions of humanity. I loved the shot in the cinema, where John is declaring the actors in the film as Angels, whilst his own head seems to be surrounded by a Halo caused by the Film Projector. Anyway - a great reaction, loved it!
