Spider-Man: No Way Home FULL Reaction

WOW.  This movie was insanely fun!!  I know it probably won't be for everyone, but if you're a Spider-Man fan, it would be tough to come up with a better movie in my opinion

*please ignore the part one in the thumbnail, this is the full version*

That's a nice catch!

I knew none of them got into the college, because those were some skinny envelopes. Acceptance letters come in thick packages. Also, you didn't comment on it, so I'm not sure if you noticed how similar Peter's new apartment was to Toby Maquire's apartment.

That was such a fun reaction! I laughed and cried with the both of you :') easily the best spider-man movie to me! And pleeease omg you should really try watching Daredevil and react to it! It's only 3 seasons! It's just the best marvel netflix series (or is it mcu now?) out there! Followed by Jessica Jones, The Punisher and Luke Cage!

No worries Thor. If you have time, your thoughts are always welcome. If not, that's totally cool as well! :) - I write novels, it's what I do, so I'm always gonna mouth off regardless hahaha. But this film affected me on a much deeper level than I was expecting so as I said, it definitely holds a special place in my heart. Spiderman 2 (Tobey) takes the #1 spot every time though.

I don't have time right now for a longer reply (definitely things to say about this movie/ the themes going on), but I'm so glad you liked it, and I agree, if possible watch this one on the big screen!! Definitely a blockbuster experience, I'm gonna try to watch it myself in theaters sometime hopefully soon!

Gosh, so much happened in this film that I will definitely miss important points. First off, I wouldn’t say this is my favourite Spiderman movie ever but I do cast it aside as “special” for sure. I know that Tom Holland is extremely popular and I loved his acting in this one, but what made this one so special for me was seeing all the previous villains, Tobey and Andrew reprise their roles. Those actors are just SO good! My favourite part was seeing all 3 Spidermen bonding and sharing their pain in a heartfelt way. The scene where Garfield saves MJ hit me so hard as well and I liked how all the call backs were meaningful as you guys said. The chemistry between the 3 of them was incredible. I kinda wish they did a whole movie with just all 3 of the Spidermen. The scene with Aunt May was definitely an interesting experience. When the glider hit her spine I knew in that moment she would die. I just didn’t think anyone could survive that so I was surprised that you guys thought she was ok. Story wise I also felt that she had to die because in movies where you tamper with timelines or create a butterfly effect, there is usually a consequence to that. However, it’s interesting that the message of this film wasn’t that Peter made a mistake messing with the timeline but that it was a good thing in the end. I personally see it as a bit more complex than that. Yes I do like that Holland’s Spiderman was more hopeful and idealistic and I agree with your discussion points about the villains not being fully culpable but at the same time, I’m not sure how I feel about redeeming them. Pretty much all those villains had some sort of mental illness mixed with chemical reactions that inhibited their judgement so I do understand the empathy Peter had for them. But on some level I feel like this film kind of simplified their cure. In most of their cases, the science changing their biological chemistry came secondary to the mental/ psychological problems they already had. That’s still going to be there and so if given another freak accident they could become villain’s again. I also think that pain is a part of life and it has it’s purpose. I feel like curing them kind of erases their journey. Even if some of their end was tragic, their choices and the consequences of those choices was part of their growth. Sometimes in life, learning the hard way is the only way a person can learn certain lessons and that doesn’t make it a bad thing even though we want a happy ending for everyone. Also, a person’s experience doesn’t just affect one person. The lesson impacts both the villain and the hero (if you’ve seen the film “It’s a wonderful life” you’ll know what I mean). But I will say that I do like the forgetting aspect. I did think that that would come full circle since they mentioned “forgetting” at the beginning, so I do like that changing people’s destiny came at a price. Goblin - I don’t personally think he was faking the whole time. I think when he destroyed the mask and was with Aunt May, I do think that he was psychologically very afraid and confused. There must have been some point where the Goblin took over but I just don’t think we were shown it because it would’ve ruined the element of surprise. MJ and Peter - I’ve held this unpopular opinion with all the Spiderman movies regarding “sacrifice.” I personally do NOT think that what Peter did at the end (protecting MJ and Ned) is an example of love. My view is that if you truly love someone then you should tell them the truth. Respecting the right for a person to decide for themselves what they feel is best for them (free will), is what I consider true love. But regarding MJ, I do think she will remember because I’m dealistic and I do believe that with or without memories, the soul still remembers. Even if you put it down to fan service, I do think true love will overcome in the end. As for MJ’s quote: “if you expect disappointment, then you can never really be disappointed.” While I do relate to this on some level, my personal mantra is “Allow yourself to be disappointed so you can receive something better.” It’s probably why I’m conflicted about the redemption arc. No one wants pain, but if we fear it or try to prevent it, then don’t we prevent ourselves from the full experience of living as well? One final note on the scene with Ned and his “lola” (grandma)…Being able to watch that scene without the need for subtitles was the coolest thing ever haha 😂 Anyway, I’m glad I gave this one a chance. I’ll be checking for a screening of this at the cinema too. It was definitely made for the big screen :)

If possible, I'd recommend not even watching the trailer, the less you know going in the better! Also, if you don't know anything, skip our predictions/ discussion and go right into the movie!

Ok...I've literally been living under a rock in regards to Marvel. I thought this was just another movie with Tom Holland so I had no idea this would actually feature actors from the previous movies. This will be interesting...
