Who Framed Roger Rabbit? FULL Reaction

Also, I had a friend explain to me some of the historical context in LA at the time, but feel free to fill me in with more, because I really don't know much about the subject. Still, I really enjoyed this one. The technical achievements alone were stunning, and it was a funny and satisfying parody movie with an awesome hero and a killer villain!

The judge was played by Christopher Lloyd who was in the Back to the Future Trilogy. If you haven't watched that trilogy yet, it is probably worth adding to your watch list at some point. It's also worth noting this is the only film / property where both Disney and Warner Bros / Looney Tunes characters appear together. Warner Bros only allowed their Money Maker characters (Bugs, Daffy etc) if they had equal screen time with the Disney counterparts. Which is why you had Bugs and Mickey in the same scene, and the piano duel between Daffy and Donald etc.

You're right about the noir vibes, the set design, the way they talk and the music too. Very cool. I also love the retro gear. That camera Valiant got at the bar looks like a 'Bellows Camera.' You can still shoot with them today I think. I find old gear so fascinating! They were made so well and the ingenuity in that era was incredible. If film wasn't so expensive I'd give that camera a whirl myself haha. Glad to see that you're enjoying the film though! :)

I remember Disney's Songs Of The South did a little blending of live action and animation (the hummingbirds that caused Eddie to crash are from it), though it would be difficult to find now. There were some controversial elements to it. Of course there is also Space Jam which was released mid to late 90's. They're really the only ones I can think of myself.
