for her and Josh it made the most sense. Josh was an anthropologist who studied different cultures. Some tribes to some crazy things. The community called her their family and gave her the new home. The cult brought the outsiders in because they recognized while they did inbreeding that they did need outside blood to keep their lines going so the boyfriend was sacraficed as the sperm donor. the other friend probably was on that route originally too until he desecrated the tree. I think the drugs they gave her may have helped with her stamina with the dancing. The may queen i feel is always an outsider because in the end she chooses one of her group or the cults members and if it was a cult member winner she obviously would choose the outsider for the sacrifice. They were big on the concept of the cycle of nature and reincarnation so they accepted their place in the cult because they were 'immortal' in that sense. also on the subject of relationships......i was in a 7 year relationship where we probably should have broken up year 4 but we were financially wrapped up in each other living together etc...we didn't quite know how to break up.
