Wow, that was a tour de force of a response 👏 LOVED it. A lot of really great nuanced points so let me marinate in that for a bit :) I do have a point regarding morality and Anakin but I'll really try to reign it in. How often we manage to fall into the philosophical trap is pretty nutty haha.

And I agree with what you were saying on another comment, I don't think these type of films are Paige's favorite (probably why she's never seen them now that I think about it), and it was harder for her to get as invested/ follow all the storylines. The relationship between Anakin and Obi-Wan is one I find particularly interesting. I really think that Anakin was dealing with plenty of hormones, not to mention a disproportionate amount of power and attention, and I think that Obi-Wan, while doing his best and being very noble, was himself a bit unqualified to handle Anakin. Obi-Wan learns to be a patient guide as he grows older, but at this point I think in a way he helps sow seeds of discontent and frustration for Anakin. It's almost like he's a young parent who is forced to raise a kid, but who isn't quite ready (at least the way I see it). Padme is a great character, but what do you think about her moral compromises? I've always seen Anakin as the tragic character in their relationship, but rewatching it made me very interested in Padme's willingness to accept someone as deeply flawed as Anakin, and why she was even attracted to him. Maybe they are more alike than I thought? I'm not sure, but I'd love to know your thoughts, and it made me like her character even more haha. But Revenge of the Sith is easily my favorite of these 3, and I had a blast watching it again (I think more than Paige) and will be more than happy to discuss that one. 2021-11-24 23:55:23 +0000 UTCWow, I thought Paige finally understood who Anakin was when Hayden first appeared...but no...it was much later, crazy! haha. Although I do think because of that, Paige missed the relevance of some of the set up (ie: Palpatine gaining more power and his closeness to Anakin and the uneasy relationship between Anakin and Obi-Wan, which in my opinion runs deeper than teenage rebellion). I'm glad she liked this one though...it's also one close to my heart because Padme is my favourite. Plus I loved the scenery of Naboo (yes Italy really is that beautiful haha)....and like Anakin, "I hate sand" 😂 - PS: Your face when Dooku was talking to the mystery man wearing the hood...I see you hahaha. I think Paige hinted at it before but I think she missed it here. Anyway, can't wait for ROTS! :)
