[WIPs] Early WIPs of 'Diving Pays Off!'

This may seem out of the blue, but here's something I've been looking to do more recently! I kinda did it with my long perma comic with Jar - WIPs! While I'm not exactly the most organized when it comes to keeping historical records of my drawings (For some reason the first part of this sequence just no longer has its sketch layer?? WHERE DID IT GO???) I feel like there's some fun to looking back to see how the picture was created! So, going forward, I'll do my best to try and keep early layers in the files of my pictures so I can share them here as interesting little picks of early WIPs to show :3c

This is a sequence that'll probably be coming out this weekend of Rori eating up specimens of a research facility Volkan works at! A fun idea that Volkan and I discussed back in late May but never really got around to finishing up until recently (lots has happened since!! Can't believe it's already been half a year since). Features Rori swallowing up a huge fish and then showing Volkan what-for with a thick, fishy belch right in his face. That'll teach him who can tell me what I can and can't eat. -w-

I'm not sure where the sketch for the first panel went, but I do have the nice clean lineart to work with. x3

The second panel I have all the fun sketches for, the lineart, and an additional early design of Volkan's wetsuit. Now, futuristic sci-fi stuff isn't really my design forte, so pardon me if anything looks pretty scuffed and not well thought out. I sat down for about 2 hours with Volkan before I finally came up with a design that I thought looked complicated enough to be considered a "design" for a wetsuit. x3 I'm a little proud of it! Just a bit. It's no otherworldly design, but I think it's a great step in the right direction for me attempting to design stuff that I'm not used to! I need to get better at latex |3

The third panel is your run-of-the-mill "belch in your face" panel you've seen a thousand times, only this one has big chompers |3

And eventually, I'll get around to a fourth panel! It'll end up being Rori smushing a dizzy Volkan under his gut and saying something along the lines of, "That's what I thought!" with a sly expression x3

All in all, this is coming out pretty nice! And again, I feel like I should do this more! I'd like to hope it's at least a little interesting seeing how these things are made. I think. >w>;; For all the hours I sink into these, I'd hope it's something fun to look into! XD
