Fantasy Characters and Backgrounds from "DartMUD"
Added 2015-06-11 08:44:33 +0000 UTCThese are a couple of Color Landscape Sketches, and Coloring/Redraws of a couple of old character sketches from a text based online RPG (MUD) called DartMUD.
I was first introduced to this game back in High School, and fell in love with it. For those of you unfamiliar with MUDs (Multi User Dungeon), they're basically the precursors to MMORPGs. They are old-fashioned all-text affairs that only the geekiest could really get into, but this particular one called DartMUD was my favorite. I actually did artwork for their webpage, dartmud.com back when I was still a student. And after about a 10 year blank, I came back to see if it was still there, and it was!
Anyway, if anyone out there is interested in MUDs, DartMUD is, in my opinion, the most detailed and well made out there. I've started playing again and will probably keep playing until I get busy with work again.

2015-07-04 22:25:38 +0000 UTCIt's unbelievable, some of these games have been running for 20+ years. For some people, it must be a major chunk of their lives. But with the right game, text offers a richness in detail that you can't get through graphics, so I say they are justifiably long-lived.
