I'll be the one to say that I'm an animation enthusiast, Animation is the LARGEST part of why i watch anime now and i absolutely LOVED water magician, it was my favorite anime last season. I know it wasn't animated the best throughout, but because of my love for animation i found the tiny well animated parts to be fantastic. Like the last episode i could tell they put the 2nd most effort into. I noticed less weird frames, more movement and character acting, it was much better than some of the previous. Ryo vs Oscar was animated really well to a above average standard. They just couldn't keep that quality up throughout the whole season. As another reactor said, this show was trying to lift above its weight bracket. So instead of being able to animate at a normal level throughout the whole season, they had small moments that were above average like the opening, eps 1, 2, 4, and 12. I honestly respect it, even if it stopped some ppl from watching. There was something so endearing about this show that made seemingly boring episodes enjoyable to me. Due to its popularity in japan i have high hopes for a second season.

2025-11-06 21:36:03 +0000 UTCit's not that it was a bad show, it just had a promising start+ the animation gradually got worse. expectations were a little higher for this show and it ended up being kinda mid which was disappointing. imo it was tougher to watch some of these episodes weekly because of that. anyway just another 6/10 isekai i'd probably check out a s2 anyway tho.

2025-10-21 06:14:14 +0000 UTCThe reason Ryo is so fucking busted is because he originally intended to go for theoretical physics but ended up going for the history degree instead (incidentally this is where much of his misc knowledge comes from, since theoretically almost everything falls under history as a field in one form or another, as long as it's not literally the latest couple years or w/e). Bro's had a pretty izi life as a nepobaby even after his parents pepsi from a car accident or w/e, since he's the heir of a CEO (albeit all the day-to-day is (well was, IDK what happens now that Ryo got pepsi'd) done by the executor hired for that specific job until Ryo finishes school). Albeit Ryo isn't a fr fr genius like some actual natural talent mfs are, he's got a huge edge over 99% of non-geniuses in most things in this world
