2023-10-14 06:46:48 +0000 UTCI think you can just take it as a dollar or so. 1 euro is usually worth only a bit more than a dollar, 1.05-1.15 since this takes place in Berlint, the currency here is most probably closer to a german mark, the currency that was in western germany before the euro came to be. A single german mark was around 2 dollars worth. that means loid was giving a check of around 40k dollars. add to this the fact that the show takes place in a time period similar to the 60s/70s, and that 40k dollars becomes a metric load of cash
