First I want to say thanks to all my Patrons and followers, past and present. This is a big change. I hope you understand.
"Boy oh boy. Does THIS ever sound as overambitious as hell! Good luck, you're gonna need it. " -Jash, Fenoxo Forums 2017.
I thought for sure with all the middleware that's available now, I could stitch together a quality game with all of the grand design ideas I had. However, after nearly 3 years of work, and general lackluster response to the latest public build, I think it's time to finally call it. Vizier's Shame is "on hiatus."
It really culminated with spending days on trying to get the goddamn clouds to look right. Honestly, days fucking about with something that was "important to the world vision," but I didn't have a good reason as to why it was. I was trying to do too many different and clever things and not enough time actually making engaging game-play.
With that, I'm announcing "Succubus Soldier 3D". It's set in the same world as Vizier's Shame, but with retro 3D graphics (circa 2000) that are much more forgiving and tremendously easier to implement.
It's a 3D, level based, Hitman (original) style game with melee combat. You'll have to infiltrate a level and seduce your target to win.
I'm also being brutal on myself as far as feature creep. Numerous times, I've already scolded myself repeating "no" like I was dog about to pee on the carpet, when envisioning how a particular section could play out.
A brief demo is available for download now, here. This is the result of about a week and half of "part-time/hobby" work. There's already about as much game-play as Vizier's Shame, and it's better game-play as well.
I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks.
