Hair, hair, hair. Fighting with hair. Hair fighting back. I'm winning, bit by bit though.
This has been a long week. I've broken and fixed / worked around the 3rd party hair systems limitations about 8 different times. It's taking a lot of meticulous planning and implementation to get to enable the hair section as seen in the gif above. Gray is disabled to editing. Green is enabled for editing. The blue spheres (blue/teal on green is stupid, I'll fix this.) are the click-to-select controllers. These let you style the hair.
The hair has 28 individual sections. Each section has 3 controllers: base, mid and tip. Each individual section can now be toggled on or off, and each can have their respective controllers toggled on or off.
I don't want to just create a few hair styles that people can choose from. Even if I make 10 different hair styles, all it's takes is 9 NPC's before it starts to look repedetive. I figured that it would take a bit more time to build this hair system, but then modifing a few preset hair styles will be pretty simple and I (as well as players) can make tons of different styles relatively easily. I just needed to make sure the interface for using it doesn't suck.
The basic functionality needed for the interface I'm envisioning is now in place. I just need to finish implementing it and rigging the hair.
Let me know what you think.
