Saturday Update!

Hello folks!

It's finally Saturday and I've finally had some time to sit down and work properly.

It still wasn't a fully productive week [ I'm still settling in, building ikea furniture, chores like that ] but it did feel more normal at least.

I started the week off by rewatching the first two thirds of the instructional video on Ableton [ the music program I bought ] and watching the last third for the first time. I remembered it being 6 hours long but it was actually 8.5 hours LMAO so I broke that up over 2 days.

It did really help to get me back into the mindset of making music though. The last part of the video was super helpful too! I mainly learned about using an LFO [ Low Frequency Oscillator ].

And this thing is complicated but VERY WORTH IT. In the picture, I have it set to 'random' which means that orange line is changing randomly [ see, it kind of looks like a city skyline there? ] but you can control how that line looks in lots of ways and how fast it changes. It always keeps moving so the output keeps changing.

It doesn't do anything by itself, but you can map it [ attach it ] to ANY part of an instrument track. You could map it to volume so the volume of the track keeps going up and down, or you could map it to frequency, so it changes from high to low sound. The reason this is so cool is that you can take something like a track that keeps playing the exact same notes with the exact same length and make it sound a lot less robotic. By changing the frequency a bit with each note, it'll sound more like a human is performing it. You could also just make insane sound wobbling and stuff too- very powerful tool LMAO

I feel like I'm becoming fairly comfortable with the program. I'm actually toggling and changing things with intent and knowledge, rather than just turning knobs and seeing what they do. I'm obviously no expert, but I think I've reached a solid novice level understanding of how the program works.

But that's only half the equation. The other half is understanding how MUSIC works, which feels harder to me. The video did help me learn beginner concepts, like what a chord progression is, and how to choose notes that compliment each other and stuff... but I feel like getting better at Music is just something I need to practice. I don't think it's the same as learning how a program works, I just need to find my artistic style.

The guy who made the video gave some advice at the end. He said that you should crank out music pieces quickly instead of trying to make the perfect track. As a visual artist, I strongly see the value of this. I know I improved the most in my art when I forced myself to draw a lot of pictures [ like working on a comic or game ], allowing some of them to be shitty and having to move on to the next one. So I think I should apply the same logic to music, at least for the first month of the 2 months I'll be allowing myself to work on the audio.

---------------------

So, I made a plan this week. I used the time I had to actually make things to create 3 lööps. I mean loops. I tried not to dwell too long on any of them, and just cranked something out.

Those 3 loops are attached to the bottom of this post.

Here's where you come in, if you like! I'd like some people to give them them a listen [ don't worry, they're just loops so they're quite short ]. Each recording goes through the loop twice so you can get a feel for how it loops.

I was hoping you guys could vote on which one you like best! Then, I can use that one to practice my songbuilding next week- I'll build a full song around that loop.

All of this is just for practice reasons for now, so I don't expect to use any of this in the game, but of course I'll be open to it if people really like something LMAO

So- if you're interested, please comment under this post with which .mp3 you liked the best! [ they're labelled 1, 2, and 3 ] And of course thank you in advance for your help!

---------------------

Sorry for the text wall LMAO This is what the kids are referring to as 'yapping' now isn't it? I've been yapping too much.

Anyway, I hope I can get more done next week. I'm still settling into a proper work routine again but I'm getting there! My windows are gonna be replaced on Tuesday so my office won't be so damn cold LMAO

And one last thing- I've been feeling scared a lot lately. I assume some of you have too. I just wanted to say that if you feel alone, you aren't. I can't say I won't be scared any more, but I can say I won't let it change me or rob me of compassion. That's all.

Let's take it one day at a time! See you next week!

Adaptation* either 0.5 or 2/4 tempo, i can't remember, it's been awhile since I've actually sat down and done psychoanalysis on music (I love all of them it's hard to pick a favorite, i think I like 1 the most)

Crypted

Love reading through the comments. Listening to them myself while on the bus to work and I absolutely think these are great! For 1, I imagine it'd set the tone for the basement, it's definitely calm enough to be a play loop while also giving the impression that there's a level of danger in the encounter. Reminds me of the music in Portal 2 almost. 2 sounds frankly like elevator music, like good elevator music. It's more slow and calm but has glimpses of airy hope. I saw a lot of people mention that 3 sounds more like event music rather than a play loop. Thing is I can't really see it being used in an attack scene only because the base rhythm that the rest builds off sounds either too high or too low. (Genuine thoughts on just the sound of the notes used not the beat itself) often listening to songs or music that fallow the theme of an attack or violent event tend to have a fast based base or 0.5/4 tempo with a high drawn out note that sharply stops as it starts again. You are absolutely kicking ass in progress and your dedication to such a big project is absolutely amazing! Each of the three experimental themes have such a personality to them and I can't wait to experience the final result. (Secretly not so secretly hoping for an album of the ost so I can play it on loop after I play the game)

Crypted

i LOVE LOVE 1 and 3! it seems like you’re picking up the program fast, especially for being pieces that you whipped up for practice, which is awesome!! personally i think #3 would go SO hard if more of a drum beat picked up towards the middle, sort of how Derek’s theme starts a little calmer then gets that consistent beat that makes you wanna bust out a jig. #1 also kinda gave me a Saw kind of vibe which i though was very fitting for the YKMET style :)

Cockbite

I love all 3 tbh, but 3 gives vibes of like violent endings, 3 gives me vibes of a "you are going to kill him" scene, a scene where you'd most likely kill either Strade OR Ren maybe, I could so visibly see MC approaching sleeping Straded, heart racing in time with the song as the blade raises up before coming down into Strade's throat. Meanwhile 1 and 2 give vibes of menu background music ngl...

Ellie

I really like number 1, but they're all pretty good. One thing you could try doing, if interested, is recording random sounds and trying mixing them in as makeshift instruments. However, it would be very experimental.

Gold L

haha, don't worry! I definitely won't be using anything as punchy/high energy as #3 as a gameplay loop. It would be WAY too annoying 😂 in terms of actual gameplay loops, I'll be making mostly more chill stuff that fades into the background so people can read and think without going nuts

Gatobob

they all sound good, 1 is amazing in my opinion. it sounds so good and is a nice calm BGM loop, and 2 sounds like a natural progression of 1.... like for example if i made a choice that slightly upset someone, 2 would start playing, ramping up the intensity slightly.... and even though i really like 3, i feel like it's one i'd personally end up turning my volume down on if it was playing for too long while i was reading ^^; EDITED TO ADD: 1 is my favourite, with 2 being a close followup.

darkraisdream

1 and 3 is the best but holy crap thats a lot of progress in a short amount of time!

Nasa

i love 1 and 2 so much !!! but these are all really cool :D

Fleshscraper

These all sound so good!

mmajee

I think 1st one works the best since it should loop nicely, but the 3rd could also work well(i think it sounds super good too, maybe harder to loop but the music is nice)

BlanketTyrant

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA CANT WAIT

DreamyGalaxy

1st one just sort of sets a consistent tone and could see it being loopable

love Meh

oh i am obsessed with all of these, they all rip

CANIDAE n' CERVIDAE

this is going to be incredible i already know it

keikei🌈

I had a longer response but patreon ate it so 😭 2 is my favourite 'pick one', as it works best with and without headphones out of all of them. 1 is my next favourite, and will become a go to 'vibe out to this' song. 3 has a lot of energy, but feels lacking unless I have headphones plugged in while listening. All three, however, are absolute bangers and I love them asldkjgldf

Leo

I love 1, I left it on loop for so long bc it's just a good idle song. I can see these all being used at different parts tho like as things amp up or etc within the scenes.

wOe_C_D

Hey! So happy to hear you’re settling in comfortably at home! Honestly, I admire how you’re picking up new things so quickly and so skillfully – seriously, wow! About the tracks… Yesterday, we had our national selection for Eurovision 2025, BUT HONESTLY, MY VOTE GOES TO YOUR TRACKS~ Jokes aside, it’s so hard to choose 😳. Every snippet has its own vibe and insane potential. 1 – Super deep, and I felt it in my chest. That rich, full sound? Chef’s kiss. 2 – THE RHYTHM. THE BEATS. I WANT MY HEART TO BEAT IN THIS TEMPO... Ufff. 3 – I CAN ALREADY HEAR THIS AS AN ENDING TRACK!! It keeps the tension going, that feeling like something irreversible is about to happen—absolutely thrilling. I’m obsessed… It’s SO HARD TO CHOOSE… but I think 2 and 3 hit the hardest. If I had to pick, then probably 3. I need more of your tracks, and I’ll be dreaming of the day I can stream them on Spotify!

nagi_nats

^^ i agree w this also

heartsgorexxx

2 is the best for me but i really like how the main bass makes it sound like a heartbeat ^^

every1ne

omg!!! i love these all so much expecially the second one it gives some sort of “unsettling/suspense/scary” vibe i dont really know how to describe it but i absolutely love it

ecco🎀

i really like number 3!

Adriana (Ren) K

Both this and what CometGrave said are how I feel about all three of them. But I would have to say that the first one is definitely fitting for when you end up in Strade's basement (or anything around that area really) due to how unnerving it sounds.

Allyson Kroon

I think 1 gives the best vibes for a creepy background though I do also really like 3 as well. Go Gatobob!

Caroline

1 is my favorite by far... it's dark and creepy but if not that I also liked number 3 <3

Celty

I’m really like 1

Magical galaxy Lavender

Genuinely, I love all 3! But I'm really loving #2 in terms of general gameplay, as it's slightly calmer than #1 and doesn't have as much going on as #3. Definitely a perfect balance while keeping a somewhat sinister tone to it! ❤️

CometGrave

i feel it's hard to choose a favorite, as all 3 have different "tones" to me. they're all great at evoking a tense atmosphere, but the 'flavor' tenseness is different experiment1's strength is how foreboding and nerve wracking it is experiment2 hits a good balance between vibrancy and macabre experiment3 has the most energy of the three by far, but has a kind of sad, emotional quality to it. it's interesting for sure, but a little too tonally dissonant sonically, i think experiment1 is the most coherent and mature. experiment2's has such a twisted playfulness to it i really enjoy, however, so it edges out experiment1 for me

lip2lip

Honestly 1 is my favourite, it feels like it'd play in a rather ~tense~ scene

jackknifeJaws

Will there be voice acting in ykmet? I was curious on if Ren would be more fox like or have fox behavior? Like would he like having his head scratched, back rubbed, tummy rubbed, but hate when his hands or feet are being touched like how a fox/dog would be like? And I always wanted to ask if Ren like hatsune miku? I do remember you putting a Vocaloid song in the playlist you made for him a long time ago.

Clownthulhu

number two please!!!!!! that one has such a vibrant aura to it while still be unobtrusive enough to be good ambient music! i'd love to heara fully fleshed out version of it! : D 2️⃣🔛🔝

NEBOU

Sure, go ahead!

Gatobob

1 and 3 are my favorites. 1 reminds me of the kind of music that’d play during the Fox DLC, and 3 reminds of “Killer” song from TPOF. If I had to pick an ultimate favorite, it’d be 1 though, gives me an eerie vibe!

BeeBoyo

In my head, I can see 3 being the escalation of 1. They sound great when played back-to-back!

8WhaaaatThat'sCrazy8

I really like the music that sounds really good and the tone is really going to set the mood for the game. Anyways, I want to ask a few questions if you’re willing to answer. I haven’t asked you any questions before, so I’m a little nervous about it.

Clownthulhu

Omg the music clips are absolutely awesome, 3 is probably my favorite!! You did so GREAT DUDE!

Farz

1 unironically goes hard

plapx3

All three are awesome! I could definitely see one and two being used in a variety of ways throughout the game. I only think that three would be best suited for ending-ish stuff is bc it has a very strong "voice" and it might break immersion by being too colorful for traditional background music

RaynieYogurt

I love all three of the music clips!! Lowkey to me they sound like progressing points in the story (1'd be like the initial realization of what kind of situation you're in/first blood, 2'd be more in the direction of like psychological horror/mindbreak moments, and 3 feels reminiscent of like text leading into a survival ending or crescendo (like escaping the desert w Jacqueline and Tom, or making a break for it out of Celia's abandoned building).

RaynieYogurt

I honestly think using February just to tinker around, getting yourself familiar with the basics of the program--and just the basics of music itself--is a solid plan. If one just went into it immediately trying to twist the notes to achieve a specific purpose (ie. your plans for March), I think it wouldn't go as well. It'd be like somebody trying to write a novel when they haven't even learned yet about the alphabet or how to construct a sentence. All in all, it sounds like you got a good head on your shoulders in how you're gonna approach this. Go wild and have fun, Gato! 😎✨

Leo ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

For sure! Man if you make somethin really good I want an ost to draw to DX love just smoothly consistant background tunes

CloudKittens

i am like really pressed for time (gotta get to work soon lol) so these are my initial impressions that i ctrl c + ctrl v from notepad. not enitrely a ranking i know, but decided to keep it in. 1: good bass, seems to a clock ticking down? Like it. Feels like something that would play whilst you’re in the basement and could play when you’re trying to escape from there. Could be played in that scene where the mc feels pressed for time going up the basement stairs just for strade to jumpscare them when he opens the door and mc falls. Highly preferred. 2: surprisingly pleasant? Good bass. Still has an underlying feeling of dread, unease, things arent what they seem. Could be used in the bar introduction scene, just needs to tone down the uneasiness and then get to where the track is at. Could be used around where you’re either trying to get out of the bar or when you willingly go with Strade and go ‘oh shit why arent there any door handles from the inside of this car’’ 3: sounds conclusive to something? Like this could potentially be a you survived theme. Second instrument could use some better progression and/or chords due to it sounding too random and taking me out of it. Am aware this is in relation to LFO experimentation.

Delores Lena

different instrument you say? I could definitely fart around with that pretty easily!

Gatobob

i really like 1! i can very much see it fitting into the game. i was visualizing it with strade brandishing a knife at me lol. it’s suspenseful, and it keeps me waiting. the other two felt too high energy? if that makes sense? almost more exciting, if you know what i mean. that being said, i’m really proud of you, gato! these are super good, coming from someone with no music experience. i cant believe you’ve only been learning for a little while, and i can already feel your style coming through with these.

xendeoide

No I totally agree, I don't think I would use something as punchy as #3 as an actual gameplay loop specifically because I agree that it would just be annoying used in that way. I think a lot of the actual gameplay loops I create will end up being more low-key than all of these, since a lot of the gameplay will be sitting there reading and thinking

Gatobob

Oh these are so good! I love the second and third the best! So cool

Phoenix Astra

I love hearing about what kind of vibes people got! I think it'll help me a lot in the future when I actually need to start matching the story to music! And don't worry, I'm saving everything I make! My plan is to use February to just create a lot of stuff aimlessly for practice, then for March, I'll start going through the game and specifically create tracks that I need- or grab ones I made in February that already work!

Gatobob

this feedback helps a lot though! It gives me a sort of idea of what sort of impacts different sounds have, so hopefully when I need to start thinking of slotting in specific music to specific parts, I'll have a better idea of what direction to take :D

Gatobob

one also absolutely has potential i just feel like the instrument on top of the like baseline track isnt the right one (or the right progression? maybe??) but it has so much potential

xdolljointsx

2 is a favourite if were just going off how well it would fit in a generic basement scene however 3 is all time favourite. its very reminiscent of toby fox and im obsessed with it lol

xdolljointsx

Wait I change my mind, 1 is also good... this is so hard LMAO. Like... they all feel right 😭 JUST KEEP AT IT GATO

hotsauce molotov

AAAA 2 IS MY FAVORITE FOR SURE! I like 3 as well!!! Love a good synth vibe! I'm no musician, but i have ears, and I say these are bangers !!!!

hotsauce molotov

Hi Gato!! All of them were great, but my favorite was the first one.

Maximus

Hey gato thanks for the beats I like them

Ren_LeijonX3

HI GATO!! <3 you really put us in a difficult situation as all three are very good but I must say that number 3 is too intense to keep on loop for too long (sounds good for situations like when the m/c dies). Number 2 and 1 sounds like the intro or background sound of the game and they really are very good ! You left me delighted But if I had to choose only one...mh maybe I would choose number 2 ! <3

Luan Blew

I favor one and three... three is a little more-heart pounding, I felt that one in my chest so I suppose my answer is 3!

Animeshen

Honestly really torn, but I think I like 2 and 3 the best, leaning a bit more towards 3?

KikiJames

you’re so cool, Gato. my vote is for 1!

Tuesday Hurt

i like three the most:3

ashe

I really like the first and second one!!! I feel that the first one would work well for moments that were sanity breaking and the second one would be amazing for moments mc is determined in surviving/escaping... Both have a different vibe and I think would work well. They both scream Strade imo ^^

spongeunction

Wow these are really impressive for a first attempt! I'm torn between #1 and #3 but if I had to choose I'd probably go with #3, to my (very) untrained ears #1 sounds like it could've been pulled straight from a game's ost but #3 feels more layered/interesting and like something you could expand on easier.

Spöksonat

the ambience for 2 just hits right!! 🤍

Lauren

I really liked them honestly but if im listening to one on a loop id probably say I enjoy the second one the most :))

NEKOPHILIA

The baseline for 1 is awesome but I feel like the lead for 2 and 3 are a lot less awkward.

Mape

Love them all just different feels for each, all sound intense lol 1. My anxiety mid but it felt super serious, then 2. It felt like a side scroller open world ambience Ngl XD pretty good but kinda off with some of the pitched in sounds I felt like I was hearing birds chirp o.o 3. Is good and def put my anxiety up but that guitar rift would get annoying af if it was for a long scene I think None too distracting in how they flow either cept the last??(it didn’t sound like it flowed weird but duhduh-duhduh rift would grate on my nerves quickly >.<) but I’m audhd so sound can be jarring at times lol

CloudKittens

I frankly love your "yapping," Gato! (But hey, as somebody with diagnosed ADHD, I'm hella biased and unapologetically so. I'm probably guilty of yapping myself, NGL. 😂) Hearing you talk about your experiences of watching the Ableton instructional video reminds me of my own experiences taking self-paced online courses through platforms like Udemy. 😆 Even if a video/course says it's about "X-amount hours long," I've learnt to expect my time to last longer since I'm the type to also take notes or replay certain parts to make sure I truly understand the material. 😅 Regardless, it's nice when you're able to spend time learning and practicing skills that you love. 😊 I love the mini explanations you give about music production. While I don't make music myself, I always found it fun learning from others and having them "teach" it to me probably helps them too. 😁 Plus you never know, your mini-tutorials may encourage or help other Patreons get into the joy of music composition too. 👀 Some of the music terms you mention (like "chord progression") reminds me of expert breakdowns in other spaces, like WIRED's "Tech Support" series where experts answer questions across a variety of topics (eg. music theory, guitar playing, witchcraft, scam blocking, etc.). Your digestible explanations sort of reminds me of them. 😁 I am also glad that despite feeling scared, it hasn't robbed you of your compassion. That fits in with the definition of Bravery. After all, if you always wait for the "perfect moment" where you feel 0%. Scared, then you'll be waiting a loooong time and likely won't get anything done! 🤷 -- As for loop track evaluation, all three carry potential so it's just a matter of what kind of ambience you're going for. Anyway, here are my impressions: Loop 1: Definitely has more of an "nefarious underground hacker Discord" kind of feel to it, while still feeling "cool and slick." Wouldn't be surprised to see Strades' in-game torture/snuff fans emitting this vibe. Loop 2: Has a "moodier" feel to me, akin to what you might get after achieving a Bad Ending; or, a scene with traces of melancholia or a devestating realization, and the character having to come to grips with that. Loop 3: NGL, this is my favorite track but that's because I tend to seek more energetic tracks that gets my blood pumping. 😆 When I listen to this, it makes me want to get on my metaphorical motorcycle and speed off, ready to take on the world. Or, to just "set shit on fire and watch it burn in revelry" kind of vibes, heh-heh! 😝 Can see Loop 3 being played after one of the "victorious" endings where you survived or still managed to get one over on Strade despite dying. But all this is just me. I'm no music expert, so take my impressions with a grain of salt. Even if you focus on one loop for now, perhaps save the others for another purpose/project someday? 🤷

Leo ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

So scared Im in the process of leaving the country LOL

Unifuckincorn

THEY ALL SOUND SO GOOOOODD!!!! 🤍

strade's hausfrau

AAAAA I LOVE THEM ALL! the second one seems more like ‘between Strade visits’ music, the third seems more spicy ❤️ and the first is when he’s using his tools. I love the way you make music

Ellis A

Learning music is intense man, kudos for giving it a shot! I hope it opens a fun new creative world for you! I like 3 and 1 a lot, I think there was something about the dissonant strings in 2 that didn’t quite hit for me. I think it still has potential! They’re all really good for first tries!

kajerone

I 100% love 1 and 2, but 2 is my favorite JUST how it is tbh. The way the background has subtle chirping gives the illusion that you are closer to freedom then you really are. It's almost like being in a cage that has the thinnest pane of glass but it's unbreakable. It's very taunting and I love every bit of it. I think it'd be good as the title screen ambiance. It's very nice for that foreshadowing before you play. Will have it on repeat lol.

Dakota Locklear

I love the first one! Experiment 1!!! :)

Livid.Livi

In agreement with everyone else here, all three are great tracks! I started backwards, so 3, 2, 1. I really liked 3. It was a very interesting loop! I liked the electrifying feel of it? If that makes sense. 2 felt like lo-fi music that I'd listen to, so loved the vibes of that one! But 1. Ohhhh, that felt like it belonged in this game. I could envision it being a high stakes moment where maybe we got loose, only to hear Strade coming down to the basement. We're scrambling to make sure nothing looks out of place if we touched things. So, ultimately I think I'm going to vote #1 😊 but really great job on all three! They were all wonderful to listen to! ❤️

💐🌼🌻🌸🌹

Ooh I like 2 the most! It's got good background music vibes :) I especially like the... keyboard?sounding part. I like 3 as a lead in to a full song, rather than a loop. As for 1, I really like it, mainly the base sound to it, it's like a heartbeat. It also has good background music vibes. I feel like my input isnt great because I liked all of it lmao, but there it is! I'm excited you've got the time and energy to start creating again! It's always good to see the Saturday Updates, but it's even more exciting when I get to hear what you've been working on 🥰

Loretti

Hi gato!!! I think number two works great for a base. On the topic of music this is can certain yap about. Because there's a big house bumping thing, sometimes it's best to sample other tracks before going in, kind of like refrencing in art. I think you'd like "met her at the love parade" because it has the deep bouncing loops. Secondly if you're creating character themes music is about portrayal. How do you want this character to sound? Do they still hold hope or is their presence overwhelming? One thing to try out is experimenting with different instruments on sound, this is my personal opinion but sounds like chello or violin I think would sound lovely for strades theming (good reference is rule #34 by fish in a birdcage) specifically a Martelé or spigatto sounding thing. Also violins have been traditionally used in making the little hair-raising sounding "eeeeeeee" in horror movies! I hope some of the references are useful, music is a very fun subject!

Mahi★Gal

I REALLLYY like all of them!! but my personal favorite is chronological order so 1,2,3!! i felt that 1 fit a scene where strade starts to hurt us, i can definitely see a harder sound or bass added as the song goes to indicate the levels of pain :3 sort of like a beat drop. it’s hard to describe what i’m thinking but i’m thinking of it like a song that goes from soft, medium, hard…. 2 kinda gave me the vibe of early game, either bar scene or when you wake up from kidnapping and actually meet the real him. the sound is very cutesy and soft, but i heard the backing instruments which add a flair of creepiness or uncertainty in it, which i feel match strades public persona a lot!!! it’s hiding in plain sight 3 to me felt like a sort of retaliation song, something that would play once we killed him off or made a successful break in our plan to escape. rebellion was the word that came up in my mind. you did SOOO good gato!!!!!!

iridian (^O^☆♪

YEAAA NEW GATOBOB POST!! Glad to see you've settled in! As for the music, it's hard to say which one I like most, but I suppose track 2? The more "ominous" elements taking the forefront while the "calmer" sounds (whatever the piano-esque notes are and what sounds like birds chirping) having an echo almost give a sense of freedom being in reach, yet you're ultimately still trapped, which made it stand out to me artistically. NOW WITH THAT I also thought upon listening that I felt these would all play at different points, which it's why it's hard for me to say which one is "best" I felt track 1 would work best as the central basement music, or maybe at something mildly stressful, but not fatal. Track 2 rang as something that would be best used somewhere specific. Like my first thought was we are by ourselves, maybe even doing something we aren't supposed to. I didn't imagine something like this would play while Strade is present, but I think could work with Ren(?) The elements I pointed out made me think of a scenario where we are OUT of the basement, but haven't been seen yet. First thought on 3 was that it sounded like an incoming death/torture scene. The higher energy sound of it makes me think whatever would be happening DEFINITELY includes a character being way too excited about something ALSO I KNOW THIS IS A LOT FOR TRACKS THAT PROBABLY WON'T MAKE IT TO THE FINAL PRODUCT AND PROBABLY DIDN'T HAVE ANY SPECIFIC SCENE IN MIND LOL And I'm sure other people interpret the mood of the tracks way differently, and I'm not here to say that they are incorrect! I'm just giving feedback so you may be able to see how it sounds to some people (or at least to me LOL), so I hope this reply helps at all! Outside of that, I hope you have a great week!! Excited to see we're in the music phase, and I can't wait to see what you make! Whatever you decide is best, I'm positive it'll be great! We trust your judgment! ^^

ThreeYrsLost

They’re all really great for a first try! If I have to choose I would say that 3 is my favorite, I feel that it is a bit more impactfull than the others and I loved listening to it! Have fun and good luck for next week ☺️

Haru

First of all I must say that seeing you so determined to learn something new encourages me to try things I never did out of fear! Now, all of the choices are wonderful, but number 1 is the one that caught my attention the most ✨️

Vyneah

music is Tough !! like a never ending puzzle thats constantly changing and somehow youve gotta put the pieces together in a pleasing way .. but man when you get it in a way you love there is no feeling like it . im so glad youre taking the time to get to know it !! i personally liked track number two the most :D

slug

1 and 2 are awesome! My choice is for number 1 ! 💜

Алёна Тараненко

I really love number 1! I can see number 2 being used as his charismatic moments though! I’d love to hear both but 1 gives me anxiety in the best way lol

fairybread

ahh i really like the first two! the 2nd one reminds me of strade's charismatic side, whereas the 1st is more like being in his basement d(-_-)b

needlawrencecontent

Oh the 2nd one is definetely my favorite, I'm really vibing with that one. First one is pretty good too but man I love that 2nd one, I'd love to hear that ingame.

tr4v3rs3-t0wn

Glad you're settling in! And thank you for the reassurance at the end 💛 I gotta say, lööp 1 made a much scarier impression than 2 or 3. Ended up listening to them in backwards order, and I felt my eyebrows rise up a little when 1 started. 👀

Taheca

i really like number 1!!

michaela

I love all the tracks you made! As an audio tech girl myself (with no prospects of being good at music theory lol) it makes me happy to see you experiment with making your own music. Keep it up!

celestialVocalist

I don't know a thing about making music, so any time I see someone trying their hand at it I'm always fascinated by it!! Personally I like number 1 the most, it feels really eerie. I like them all, but number 1 is my favorite. I'm so excited for when the full game's soundtrack is finished, I know for a fact I'll be playing it endlessly....

FireballUwu

Glad you're settling in well Gato! ❤️ As for the music choices I can't really decide between 2 and 3, those are both really good but if I had to pick I'd go with 3!

Kaeli Zweber

Hell yeah proud of you for relearning how to work on the music program. I’m glad you are adding a slider too, it’s showing a lot of improvement already >:3c

So glad you settling into your new place well gato! Also glad you are getting window u gotta stay warm!!! Oml all the tracks are really good! I think my favourite will have to be number one rahhhh! They are all giving me different vibes! Like the second one kind of feels like when you first meet strade, but specifically outside in the ally cus of the unsettling factor! The last one feels a bit more like a “you died” screen and the first sounds kinda like menu music rahhhhh, there is your opossum autistic yap session uwu love your work gato Schönes Wochenende!!! 🩷🩷🩷

The first one made me shudder, the second one is really good! I didn't personally like the third

Daisy

I’m absolutely in love with number 1

Cerberus

I really like the 1st one personally!!

ResidentReptile

Glad to see you’re doing well Gato! Long time fan! I have to say Experiment1.mp3 is my favorite of the trio! Definitely gives me Strade basement vibes! Keep up the great work and take care of yourself! 💙🖤

AshyArtz

Personally? I preferred the 1st one 😊

Sunny

THESE ARE SO GOOD!!!! I think youre genuinely a fast learner because this does not sound like novice level at all. I guess that video really helped! I'm so happy to hear youre settling in :). I would say I personally prefer the second one, but the first one is pretty good too -- But I can't see n3 in a visual novel context. N2 feels more creepy, mysterious, and like a loading title screen. It's actually crazy cool.... Thank you for the nice words. We have to stick together in times of need, as people

aniel

i like number 2 the most. Number 3 is good too.

Arghman

Im so happy stuff is settling down!! I'm glad you're also settled in nicely!! In regards to the music: I love, specifically, 1 and 3. But i can't decide which - 1 has this vibe of the new you, and the new vibes you bring to the table, but 3 has this nostalgic feel of the older games. All in all though it's up to what averages out, I'm really enjoying how you're doing! keep it up :D

Glad things have calmed down, and I hope you’re feeling comfortable in your new place! Good luck with music production! As far as which lööp I like best, I’m going to have to go with the first one, experiment 1!

kikibadger

In love with 2—it gives me city night vibes. But 3 has that 'you lived' end screen feeling.

Dream Wolf

Glad things are calming down !! Personally really enjoy the vibes of number 3 but all are good theres just a wee bit more in 3 that itches the brain

Strawberry🍓Milk

Hello! Honestly I love the 3rd the most. But they are all really great. Good job!

Veronika Maksimová

My favorite is #1!

Cyril Nicholas

i can’t decide between the second and third… maybe the second, though

AJsbiggestfan

in my opinion, experiment1 sounds the best
